Prejmer Church (Cetatea Prejmer) is the largest fortified church in southeastern Europe and among the oldest recorded in Transylvania. Begun by Teutonic Knights in 1211, the settlement withstood 500 years of attack, and, thanks to its strong defences, secret passages, and progressive weaponry, it only fell once in all that time.

The next stop in our tour is Harman Fortified Church, built in the 13th century by Saxons colonists in order to protect the church from different invaders. The church was surrounded by walls and bulwarks and had on its sides massive towers. The belfry tower, located on the church’s western side was built in the 14th century. Both of the fortified churches offer awesome places to take some photos and to understand the stories of Transylvania.

Rising from its own ruin, the Marienburg Fortress rises imposingly at Feldioara, on the banks of the Olt, only 20 km from Brașov, on the road to Sighișoara. Its restoration, carried out in 2013-2017, saved the remains of the walls that had survived the last hundred years of abandonment and restored its appearance in the seventeenth century. The strategic position, with visibility over a large area, and the natural advantages have made this place attractive in prehistory. During the archeological researches, the plateau on which the fortress rises revealed vestiges of habitation from the earliest times - Neolithic, Bronze Age, Dacian and Roman period, but especially the Middle Ages.
