Huanchaco, a sleepy coastal suburb of bustling Trujillo, is known for its long slow waves and is one of the best surf spots along the Peruvian coastline to learn how to ride a wave. Stroll along the town’s oceanfront promenade, watching fisherman come in with their catch on traditional reed boats called caballitos de totora.

Although the Temple of...
Although the Temple of the Dragon was closed, the rest of the tour was great. Everything tied together so it is impossible to pick only one. And our guide was very knowledgeable on the representations pictured on each site, how the sites were used and the history of each location.

A great tour of Moche and Chimu sites
My son and I had a wonderful day with Oscar. He was very enthusiastic about the history of Peru and this made for an interesting and informative tour. We highly recommend both the tour and definitely Oscar!

A great tour - not to be missed.
This was a very full day. My pedometer says I did 12,000 steps. These archaeological ruins leave Machu Pichu for dead. Both sites were very extensive and well preserved. The museum was fantastic even though we were rushed through. The walk around downtown Trujillo was very interesting and the lunch stop was great. The tour leader Julio spoke good English but the guide explaining the sites and museum, Oscar, was very hard to understand. He was very knowledgeable but so hard to understand. The pick up from the cruise ship went well without a hitch.

Interesting but ruins are in a bad shape
Our guide Napo did a great job guiding us. But the tour wasn‘t organized really well and we had to wait a lot. Overall the trip was ok, but the reason we wouldn‘t recommend it is because the ruins and temples are in a really bad shape.
