This unique Alaskan experience is the only one of its kind offered in the Anchorage area.  Get out and enjoy the beauty of Alaska!  On a clear day we'll see as many as four mountain ranges in Southcentral Alaska, We'll spend our time on a small frozen lake in the Anchorage area.  Using the latest electric ice auger, guests can help drill through anywhere between 6 inches to 3 feet thick ice.  At times we'll see fish swimming below, either while looking through an 8-inch hole in the ice, or using technology to watch fish move below on sonar images on a depth finder.  At times we may fish with jigs or spoons, at other times, hooks, bait and a bobber.  We'll often see moose in the woods around town or at the edge of the lake.  Bald eagles often watch from the trees nearby, looking for a free meal.  Relax and enjoy the fishing, we'll take care of all the messy work and heavy lifting - except perhaps lifting the heaviest fish of the day from the water!

Ice fishing is a great way to experience the winter months of the northern latitudes. As it gets you outside to experience the beauty of nature in a heated tent. The Nacey Lake State Recreation area is very renowned for its amazing access to some backcountry areas of Alaska. You would expect to catch northern pike and lake trout on this trip. Our full-day ice fishing trip takes you out by snowshoe through the winter wonderland of the Nancy Lake area to a selected frozen lake. Once out on the lake, we will prepare the area and fishing tent so we can fish in a heated environment. Your guide will point out wildlife, and land formations as you snowshoe and will clean any fish you catch. An Alaska State Fishing license is required and not included in this price. Activity Details First Hour- Snowshoe an hour into our desired fishing location Second Hour set up the ice fishing tend and drill the holes Hours three-seven Ice Fish and eat lunch Last hour pack up and snowshoe back out.

Our ice fishing trip are all a private outdoor experience. You will never be grouped with other guests. Our friendly guides are experts of their crafts. Ice fishing is a great alternative winter activity that you didn't know was so fun. We say "catching fish is the bonus", just to be in the ice surrounded by Utah's incredible mountain backdrops is the main attraction. Safety is out #1 priority.
