World War II History

During the bombing of Dresden in 1945, the Royal Palace experienced serious damage but the Green Vault escaped mostly free of harm. At the time, the most valuable exhibits were being stored outside of the Royal Palace in the Königstein Fortress with an eye towards their safety.
