The basics

A rural location away from the main Angkor temples means that Beng Mealea sees far fewer crowds. With that in mind, plenty of off-the-beaten-path sightseeing tours stop at the temple; tours tend to transport you by either tuk-tuk, air-conditioned vehicle, or on a bike. and usually combine Beng Mealea with the intricately-decorated Banteay Srei. Many continue on to Tonle Sap Lake, one of the largest freshwater lakes in Asia, and include a cruise to the floating villages of Kompong Khleang.
