Portorož

The basics

Portoroz tours often visit other seaside villages along the Slovenian Coast, such as Piran, Izola, and Koper. Day trips leave from Ljubljana, Koper, and Trieste, and include round-trip transportation, allowing you to enjoy the seaside views. Portoroz is also a jumping-off point for exploring the wine regions of Istria and Kvarner, and several food and wine tours are offered from here.

When to get there

July and August are the busiest months to visit the Adriatic Coast, and you can expect crowded beaches and higher priced accommodations during this time—so be sure to arrive at the beach early in the day to secure a prime spot. Visit in May, June, or September, and enjoy the beach with fewer crowds while the weather is still pleasant.
