Kerry var en utmärkt turneringsvärd, hon kände fastigheten väl och kunde underhålla oss med historier längs turnén. Vi besökte fyra restauranger och en kock från var och en kom ut för att prata med oss. Detta var höjdpunkten för mig att höra deras passion och kärlek till deras anläggningar. De förklarade det unika med deras plats och om vårt matprov. Det som imponerade mig mest var utmaningen Fairmont har gett för en nollavfallsoperation. Varje kock talade för att äta med iver och glädje över sin kreativitet för att uppnå detta. Maten var fantastisk vid varje olika stopp. Dryckerna var också mycket bra, men kunde ha varit bättre om de inkluderade alkohol.

It's illegal in Alberta for us to sell alcohol that someone else is licensed for. That is why we provide amazing culinary craft spirit-free beverages on all our tours and negotiate a special price for the alcohol drinks guests can buy on their own. I am currently working on an innovation with government to get around this but it is a long road. Thanks for your encouragement. I'll stick with it! We have been on a few food tours, but this one was unique and is highly recommended. The Fairmont Hotel in Banff is already very impressive in itself, but the kitchen performance is unique! The tour offers a behind-the-scenes look at a complex hotel operation, and you spend three hours with food lovers who are the nicest people in any country. Banff becomes an even greater experience with this tour!

An unexpected highlight of my visit

I didn’t go to Banff with touring a hotel and sampling local food high on my list but my oh my, was I pleasantly surprised. The region and the hotel have such an interesting history, and the food at each of the food venues was absolutely delicious. Being a vegetarian, it’s hard to find good food in a lot of places but I was blown away by the thoughtful alternatives. Maren, our guide, did a wonderful job showing us around and tying our food into the history of Canada itself. I will definitely be going on another of these the next time I visit!

The "Eat the Castle" tour was terrific! The Banff Springs Hotel is not only beautiful and historic, but a great vehicle for a food tour. The 4 restaurants that participated in making our tastings did a fantastic job! We liked the food so much, our only "complaint" was we wanted more of it! 😁

This was the best tour I did in Banff. Nora was excellent and she provided very interesting historical facts about the hotel as well as walking us around the beautiful castle called the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel. All of the food was award winning selections in my opinion.

This was a wonderful experience for us. Our guide,Tracy was excellent and provider a lot of historic information we found enriching and interesting. The staff at the hotel were all excellent and provided an excellent experience. The food was stellar and we truly enjoyed it. Also we never felt rushed to complete our tastings and that was pleasant as we were able to interact nicely with the other guests. We loved this tour!
