Din dagstur till Atherton Tablelands, en del av World Heritage-listade Wet Tropics of Queensland, börjar med upphämtning från en central mötesplats och en bilresa till Tablelands, som ligger cirka 80 km sydväst om Cairns. Efter ungefär en timmes körning, gör ett stopp vid Cathedral Fig Tree, ett stort 500 år gammalt strypfikonträd med långa luftrötter.

Kör vidare in i en orörd regnskog, där du stannar vid Lake Eacham. Ta ett dopp i den vulkaniska sjön, skapad för mer än 12 000 år sedan, och titta efter sköldpaddor i det klara vattnet medan din guide förbereder ett rejält morgonte.

När du är redo för lunch serverar vi en picknickmåltid med färskt bröd, salladsartiklar till smörgåsar och ett kött- och fruktfat. Vi tar hand om matallergier så meddela oss i förväg.

Gå sedan till Millaa Millaa Falls för att ta ett dopp i dess naturliga tropiska pool.

Din sista destination, och höjdpunkten på din turné, är Josephine Falls, som du når genom att ta en kort promenad med din guide. Om du känner dig äventyrlig, gå ner för "vattenrutschkanan" som släpper ner dig i en djup pool, eller bara koppla av och njut av landskapet. Du kommer också att tanka här med eftermiddagssnacks från din guide.

Great trip even in the rain

Outstanding trip. The weather was rainy most of the day but our driver/tour leader did an outstanding job getting us to see the sites despite the conditions. If the trip was this good in the rain it must be awesome in good weather!!

Fun trip to the waterfalls

Patty was a great guide & driver, and she made the trip really enjoyable. We made six or seven stops at different waterfalls and lakes, as well as stopping at the curtain fig tree. Josephine Falls and Milla Milla Falls were especially great for swimming. Overall a great trip!

Truly a memorable and magical experience. The falls were amazing to say the least. The foliage around was incredible. The waters were really enjoyable. Didn't manage to swim in all because sometimes the waters were too cold for me . The guide was great and made us feel really comfortable.

We enjoyed our tour of the Atherton Tablelands. Our guide was so helpful and knowledgeable. She even lent us towels from her home when we were unable to bring them from our hotel. She helped us find wildlife and showed us the most spectacular natural sites.

This tour really is was amazing! I learned so much and we made 6-7 stops. It went at the perfect pace all day. And I was lucky to have a group of only 4 of us which was really fun. Highly recommend you see more than you expect! The highlight was seeing a platypus up close in the wild!

This was an amazing experience with Barefoot Tours , on 17/8/23. It was a small tour and we could choose where we wished to go and how long we could stay ! The scenery was absolutely stunning and we felt relaxed, comfortable and not rushed. Our tour guide Marcio was very knowledgeable about all aspects of the places we visited , indigenous , geologically and historically. Location for Morning tea, & lunch provided was awesome👌👍🏻 We would highly recommend this tour with Barefoot, they cater for so many different experiences of this stunning part of Queensland.

More of a bus service than a bus tour

In my experience, it is often the tour guide who makes tours interesting and fun. Unfortunately, while our tour guide was lovely and polite, she didn’t do a good job of giving us an idea of our itinerary throughout the day nor provided any background information about all of our different stops along the way. I didn’t learn anything at all about the villages, towns, nor locations we went to. We were taken from A to B to C, told how long we’d be at that particular stop, and offered some instructions on where to go, but that was about it. It was a long day and long drive so it made for a dull experience in between locations as the tour guide simply drove rather speak to us. She gave us snippets of information here and there, answered our questions, and the different stops were nice, but I wouldn’t do this tour again based on today’s experience.

Patty our driver was very welcoming and full of information. Nothing was too much trouble, for her. The tour was well organised, with lots of stops to see and participate in activities. What an amazing day of WOW factor! Andrea was the perfect host, encouraging our small group to come out of their shells. I travelled with my Mother, so the age ranged between 20 - 76 the day was suitable for all of that age range. We understand it might have been frustrating but sometimes unforeseen circumstances can lead to such extreme last minute cancellations. We never want our guests to miss out, and we do offer to book alternatives right up to 8 am on the tour day (as this is generally when other operators start to leave town). Also given we know the area and the other operators pretty well, it can usually be a lot easier for us to organise it on your behalf and save you the stress or panic. It seems we could've communicated this better. We genuinely care about your experience, and we'll work on improving our communication. Fantastic tour! Our guide was wonderful. He shared lots of fun fact along the way, but not in an overwhelming way. Please note, Viator says this tour ends at 1:35pm. It actually ends at 5:30pm. It’s a full day with lunch included. Lots of time for swimming and pictures. I would highly recommend.
