Fantastisk första upplevelse med öknen

Öknen är hisnande, främmande och absolut charmig. Denna 2-dagars resa räcker om du bara vill smaka på öknen, men absolut inte tillräckligt om du vill lära känna den bättre. Jag kan inte rekommendera det tillräckligt för alla från tempererade klimat - den vidsträckta sanden och klippformationerna, tystnaden, mörkret efter solnedgången. Det är magiskt. Vår guide och förare, Hazem, var fantastisk. Han var helt klart en skicklig 4 x 4 förare, men också kunnig om öknen och hade några saker att säga om alla landmärken han har visat oss. Vi har varit i området Black Desert, Crystal Mountain, vi har sett den berömda svampen och kycklingen och många andra underverk. Sammantaget måste jag helhjärtat rekommendera denna resa. Jag har dock varnande ord: det här är ingen upplevelse för dig om du inte tål att sova i det vilda, bristen på toaletter och civilisationen i allmänhet. Det är en fantastisk upplevelse för att bekanta sig med platsen, det kommer inte att räcka för mer hardcore, vilda resenärer. Och aldrig, absolut aldrig, glömma varma kläder, närmare bestämt något vindtätt. Öknen är kall och blåsig på natten, och det är förrädiskt lätt att bli förkyld. Och jag säger detta av erfarenhet; )

Den tidiga starten var värt det! Vi blev upphämtade i Rehab och började vår resa därifrån. Vi stannade vid ett hotell för en lunch, vilket var härligt, innan vi klättrade upp i en jeep och begav oss ut i öknen. Första stoppet var Black Desert, där vi gick upp till toppen av dynen och hade en spektakulär utsikt över den vidsträckta öknen. Efteråt gick vi till en naturlig källa. Det hade en fantastisk natur! Därifrån reste vi till Crystal Mountain. Vår guide var mycket kunnig om öknen, formationer och historia, som allt lades till upplevelsen. Efteråt fördes vi in i Vita öknen där vi fick möjlighet att sandbräda. Utmattande i värmen och klättra tillbaka till toppen men det är så kul! ! ! Efter sandboardingen tog vi oss vidare in i White Desert, redo att göra oss klara för kvällen. Guiderna var verkligen vänliga och fick oss till en utmärkt plats. Vi var fria att vandra när solen började gå ner. Vyerna var helt enkelt vackra och att se stjärnorna dyka upp var helt fantastiskt. Att sova under stjärnorna gav inre lugn och avkoppling. Maten tillagad av guiderna var utsökt. Mycket mättande och allas behov tillgodoses. Att vakna upp och se solen gå upp var otroligt. När vi hade ätit frukost, ett enkelt men utsökt urval, begav vi oss tillbaka genom White Desert, in i Tan Valley och sedan till den varma källan. Det var en fantastisk upplevelse, överträffade helt alla förväntningar och skulle rekommendera till alla. Jag är inte en friluftsgalen men skulle ha ångrat att jag inte gick på det här.

Amazing camping experience

Pick up was on time, 4.5 hours from Cairo but it’s totally acceptable. The whole trip including the food, safari and the overnight camping is great, great value of money! This was an amazing experience for people who live in the city, who barley got the chance to see the astonishing star sky and the Milky Way, highly recommend!👍

Absolutely fantastic tour into the desert, starting early in the Cairo metropolitan area and having lunch at the oasis hotel. I think all of us in our group would have liked an extra day in the desert, but if you only have the two days this is highly recommended as a break from the city and a break from the ancient ruins and venues in Giza, Cairo and so on. Food, sights, music and camping experience, all 10/10. Will be back!

Great outdoor experience

We had a very great time during this experience. We got picked up in time and from that moment on the guides were taking good care of us. We saw all the things described in the tour information. There was nothing to complain about. You have to be a bit into outdoors, but that’s a given if you book a tour to sleep in the desert. So don’t expect luxury. But the experience is very unique and the stars at night are amazing. Take warm clothes with you, as it can get cold during the night. I highly recommend it.

White desert is very unique

It's a fun experience, the white desert is one of a kind. Our driver/guide Mahmoud(?) was chatty and kept it fun, he also spoke English better than most tour guides in Egypt so far. Good accommodations were made for vegetarians - food was cooked hot and very basic. Sleeping bags were cozy and clean. Guide gave us plenty of time to enjoy the sights. We couldn't see sunset because of clouds, but the full moon lit up the desert which was pretty cool. Definitely worth a shot if you're on Egypt and bored of history.

This was the best tour we did in Egypt. A bit of a long drive to get there, but definitely worth it. Great guide Mahmoud, (Moomoo) who spoke great English and was a lot of fun. Teaching us about the desert and the Bedouin life. His cooking skills spot on. Sleeping under the stars and just watching the sky all night long with shooting stars was truly the highlight. I’d definitely do this again but I’d do the 3 day. Best experiential tour we had. Perfect end to our 12 days in Egypt . Every need was met.

An unforgettable experience with beautiful otherwordly landscapes

As a lover of nature, this was my favorite part of my Egypt trip. The landscapes were stunning. Yes, the drive there is long; I dozed off for most of it. When you get to the good stuff it's amazing. There are frequent stops to look around and take photos. At night, your guide will cook you up a bedouin meal. It gets chilly, so bring some warm clothes. You can choose to sleep in a tent or under the stars. I chose under the stars. The sleeping bag and blanket were more than enough to keep me warm when sleeping though. I highly recommend doing this if you enjoy the sheer beauty of nature.

Great experience that you can sleep in the desert and look at the sky full of stars. You can easily find the Milky way and Jupiter. Nice food with a camping fire. Enjoy the sunset and sunrise in a peaceful place. Unique black and white desert hardly find in the other place. Really enjoyed it.

this was my favourite tour in egypt! you will have an unparalleled experience, if you accept some minor discomfort along the way. what you will see of the nature is truly amazing: you will see the amazing white desert, crystal rocks, and other impressive natural landscapes and unique formations. the sandboarding is a small fun activity inbetween. my favourite thing was the night camping, with food from the open fire, and tea. it was a very original feeling, like a nomad in the desert. the view at night of the white rocks lit by the full moon felt surreal, and is something i will never forget! to get this, you will have to accept hour long drives, and unsanitary gas station stops along the way. try to skip these, there is a good clean stop at the oasis, where you change to the 4x4 vehicle. the heat in august was a lot at times. the driving over the hills is fast and bumpy, but you can ask the driver to slow down if you feel unwell. my sleep was disturbed by wind and dust at times. but, it is all worth it! our driver was nice and always told us a bit about the current landscape, what it is and how it came to be. he provided us with water and other things we needed during the trip. at the camp he made some really good food and fresh tea, and built us our own small tent. the 2 days were overall quite packed. we were at each stop for 20-40 minutes before moving to the next one. if i had the choice, i would go to less places, with more time at each of them. that is really the only thing i would change, and is a personal preference. overall, i can fully recommend this tour to everyone that is willing to give up some comfort for an unforgettable experience! it is so beautiful and unlike anything i have seen before! do it and enjoy it!

Get out of Cairo and see the desert

An amazing experience - the 'desert' isn't just sand dunes. Black volcanic rock mountains to clamber up, fossicking for that perfect crystal shard, tea and melon in the swimming-tank, white rock formations and yes some dunes... and a sandboard, closed off with a horizon wide sunset, visiting Fennec locals and ancient seashells.

Authentic, amazing experience

5/5! I was picked up at 7am, arrived solo. You can definately feel 100% safe and make friends during the trip. Drive to Bahariya Oasis is long if you're not used to sitting in a car for a long time. I slept in the car between the coffee/toilet stops. Real adventure starts at the Oasis. Really enjoyed the lunch and all the food during the trip especially at the camp. We were put in two groups of 5 and 4 and hopped in 2 jeeps. Driving at the desert sand is super fun already. You will see many unique areas that have different qualities. Black desert, white desert, sand dunes, crystal rocks etc. Variety is brilliant. You can refresh in a spring. Water is not cold at all but not hot either. Guides were down to earth people and they played great beduin music! Can sleep inside the tent or outside. It was totally quiet at night like no sounds at all. I would recommend this for people who love a bit of action (not for people seeking luxury). One of my best trips.

Great trip, good people, breathtaking sights. Some disadvantage: the lunch provided by the hosts at the oasis was not so nice The car in which we travelled across the desert was very dangerous, improvised back seats at the back of the van, no seatbelts, sharp parts of metal sticking out. The road was super bumpy and the Bedouin drove super fast. This trip is not for everyone
