Amazing walking and learning experience.

Duncan has a great knowledge of the history of Halifax. Honestly I have learned a lot! The walking and listening to the history behind each building was amazing. Duncan shared some really good anecdotes and interesting facts about the city. The walking was easy and no rain. I really enjoy history! I highly recommend this walking tour. People of Nova Scotia are very friendly, everyone should visit Nova Scotia!

Ian did a marvelous job of telling us history and events and about notable buildings. The walk moved along and since we had never visited Halifax before we were very thankful we did this tour.

Our tour guide was Ian, an historian by profession and an historical tour guide by avocation. From start to finish he provided a thorough tour of Halifax in a very personable manner. The walk can be a bit long for some older people, but we meandered uphill to the Citadel in such a way as to reduce the steepness of the climb.

Historic Halifax by Foot was an excellent walking tour! Carmen was our guide and she was wonderful!! She was warm, friendly, and extremely knowledgeable! The tour was 2 1/2 hours long at a comfortable pace. We had a break for washrooms, a coffee, and a stroll around the Public Gardens. The beautiful day and only having 4 people on the tour just added to an excellent experience with Carmen!!

A Great Overview Tour of Halifax

Our tour guide, Thelma was very knowledgeable and helpful. She spoke very clearly. Many historical sites and points of interest were noted and we were able to visit them in more depth the nest couple of days. The Halifax Public Gardens and the bustling water front were the most memorable parts of the tour. The tour was a very good overview of things to see in Halifax. I highly recommend it.

What a pleasant way to see and experience historical Halifax! Our guide, Thelma, was friendly and knowledgeable. The route was so interesting we barely realized we were climbing in elevation. The views from Citadel Hill were worth the climb.

Too slow!

Nothing bad to say about the tour guide but sometimes you get paired with people who are so slow that it creates a drag for the group. The people that we were with moved at such a snails pace we had to abandon the tour 20 minutes into it. There should be a qualifier that you need to be able to walk at least 2 miles an hour - trust me that’s not brisk but faster than we were going.

Great Guide and Great Way to See Halifax

Our guide, Carmen, was absolutely outstanding. Besides being a storehouse of knowledge about the city, she was sensitive to the physical needs of the participants as we walked and climbed all over town. She kept us on target to be at the Citadel for the noon canon and changing of the guard, but we never felt rushed or as if we missed a thing. This was a perfect way to see Halifax, get an idea of what there is to do and see and experience the highlights of this beautiful city. Our time in the Gardens, even though it was damp and drizzly, was wonderful. A must see.
