Resan till Loch Ness börjar på eftermiddagen med upphämtning från busstationen i Inverness. Där går du ombord på ett kryssningsfartyg och strosar på däck medan du korsar mystiska och majestätiska Loch Ness. Du anländer snart till ruinerna av Urquhart Castle. Stig av och utforska på egen hand den medeltida platsen med sin blodiga och skrämmande historia. Före eller efter turen bland ruinerna kan du bege dig till besökscentret där du lär dig mer om de historiska personer som bebott eller invaderat platsen, till exempel Edward I på 1200-talet och MacDonald, Lord of the Isles, på 1400- och 1500-talen. Hör om borgens uppgång och fall och den nyckelroll som den spelade i den skotska kampen för självständighet. Nicely done. Would have been better to return on the boat. Also PLEASE TWLL THE TOURISTS on the bus to keep their conversations volume down so we can actually hear the guide.

Coach driver was so much fun and knowledgeable. Boat staff were fun and nice. To be honest we had no idea what to expect from this experience as it was booked very last minute but it was perfect. Not too long but had the chance to view such beautiful scenery.

This was a convenient way to get from Inverness to Loch Ness. The bus driver was great and gave some good commentary during the drive. I do wish there had been more information about the myths and stories about the Loch Ness monster, but it was an overall great tour. They gave plenty of time to explore the castle, and, it was a nice ride on the lake.
Wonderful cruise / bus tour

The bus coach to/from the station was nicely narrated by Adam. He was well versed on the sights and facts of the area. Our cruise was aptly piloted. The crew were very friendly and narration of the cruise was enjoyable.

We started on the bus and our tour guide Allan was very friendly and funny, even though he was powering through a bad case of laryngitis. He took us to the catamaran which guided us onto Loch Ness. We had a different tour guide on the boat, but they were both very informative. We had plenty of time to see every bit of the Urquhart Castle and the visitor's center before rejoining the bus for our trip back to Inverness. The only negatives were the crowds at Urquhart, making it difficult to move around sometimes. Also, at the start of the tour we were unsure which bus to look for at the bus station. We did recognize it as soon as we saw it though. It may have been a little reassuring to know in advance how to make sure we didn't accidentally get on the wrong bus!

Great experience looking for Nessie on the lake :) And was great to approach the castle from Loch definitely a must when visiting Inverness.

This tour is mostly self-guided, but Ian, our driver who took us to and from the boat tour and back to Inverness was highly entertaining and provided us with a lot of information about Loch Ness and its history. We had perfect weather as we enjoyed our hour long cruise down Loch Ness and onto Urquhart Castle. The castle was amazing, and I only wish we had more than an hour to have toured it. If you go fairly quickly you're able to see just about everything, but if you don't feel like rushing, I recommend spending most your time strolling around the castle. The views are stunning, and we were lucky enough to have perfect weather that day. Great tour to go on if you don't want something that will take all day long!

We had a wonderful time on our tour to Urquhart Castle. The bus driver Allan was amazing. He kept up a stream of story telling throughout our ride to the boat. He then met us at the end and drove us back to Inverness. Someone heard that it was Allan's birthday so we all sung happy birthday to him -- he was wonderful and hilarious! The cruise to Urquhart was just as good with breathtaking views and a they had special kind of chocolate drink with whiskey in it at the bar. The cruise director told us more stories about the lochs and warriors and even sang a couple of Scottish songs. I would definitely recommend taking this trip -- less than 3 hours in total and you see so much! Very enjoyable.

This was a great, quick way to see these sites. The coach was clean and comfy. Allen guide was entertaining, good driver, and was a clear speaker which sounds trivial but I was having a hard time in Scotland with some of the heavy accents - and I am from Canada and my native language is English!. We didn't get to spend a lot of time at the Castle so only got to see parts of it - which was OK for us we were a bit Castled out by this point in our European vacation, but if you are wanting to be able to see the whole thing and read every sign, then plan to go back longer. Cute little gift shop that had some unique things that I only found there Heather Honey. Good value for the

Fantastic tour. Our guide was excellent! Quick trip by boat on the Loch to the castle, perfect timing, Just enough time to feel you've had time to look for Nessie and explore the castle, which is very well preserved for a ruin with lots of visual guides. A very well spent afternoon!

Loved this tour! Wished more time at Urquhart Castle ruins though. Very crowded and impossible to see movie in time allowed.The room where it was screened was more of a classroom with limited space.. Be aware that there is a bit of walking and climbing small hills and stairs so not for anyone with bad knees etc...The cruise of Loch Ness was wonderful! Be prepared for changeable weather

Beautiful one hour cruise from the Caledonian canal into Loch Ness. Great guide, lots of interesting information and he even sang us a few songs! Visit to Urquart castle was beautiful, but felt a bit rushed. No time to see the castle and the visitor center, so we just saw as much of the castle as we could and then had to hurry to find where the bus would pick us all up. More than one hour at the castle/visitor center would have been better. Other than feeling a bit rushed at Urquart, we very much enjoyed the tour. Gorgeous scenery on Loch Ness, beautiful and interesting ruins at Urquart.

Both the guides were knowledgeable. The guide on the boat sang old folk songs which really added to the experience. He was perfect. The bus guide was informative with great tidbits. Very accessible for handicapped.
