Our guide, Georgia, knew the area and its history very well. Her presentation was informative and she displayed a good sense of humour. We were exposed to so many beautiful views and sites. It is impossible for me to pick one.

excellent Way to Enjoy Matera

We are a group of three friends, travelling to Matera, from Canada. We enjoyed this tour a great deal. Lots of interesting information shared about this curious and amazing site. We'd love to return again someday to spend more time in the city and explore the many narrowed streets and hiking trails to the caves.

Antonio was a fabulous guide. He kept up a running commentary for the whole two hours that we were on the tour. He had an in-depth knowledge of the Sassi, and his clear and thorough explanations helped us to understand the history and the functioning of this unique and fascinating area.

Excellent guide and an enjoyable tour. Only small gripe would be paying extra for entries to a church and small museum On top of the €25 ticket price. These additional fees were only €2 each but should have been included in the ticket price of €25. Just felt a little expensive for the 2 hour tour. Excellent guide though.

Cosimo was a great guide! We learned so much about a Matera, the people, geology, and history. Well worth the price. Cosimo shared his experiences living in Matera and no topic was off limit it was a very frank and honest conversation throughout the walk. Highly recommend.

What a fabulous tour(in English)Georgia gave us! Initially, we weren't going to book one as we thought we would explore Matera on our own. At the last minute we booked this tour and we're so glad we did. Georgia pointed out so many interesting details about which we never would have known.
