We took the Sunset tour. The inside knowledge of our guide was amazing, as were the tips she gave for the best photo locations. She had a great sense of humour. A very well-organized tour. We'd recommend the tour to anyone

We had a beautiful evening for our tour. Our guide Lee gave us a lot of info about the Navajo tribe. We had plenty of time to take tons of pictures. This is definitely a “must do” tour. Highly recommend.

Having been to Monument Valley several times over the years and doing the usual rim drive, I wanted to experience some of the off- the-beaten path vistas. I booked through Viatour, and the tour operator was a local Navajo run company. Our driver, was Harry Nez. I can’t say enough good things about him!!!! He picked us up at The View Hotel exactly at the appointed time (5:15 am for the 5:30 sunrise tour). He was a bit reserved a first, but quickly warmed up to us, giving us a lot of back stories on the scenery, and taking us to locations accessible only to guided tours. I had requested a tour focused on photography as I am a nature photographer, and, boy, did I hit the jackpot with Harry!!!! Turns out that he is an extremely talented and accomplished photographer, and knows every spot for the perfect shots. I am so grateful for his expertise, and the fact that he was willing to share so much of his knowledge with me! Also, the fact that he is also a Nikon person, he expertly navigated the settings on my camera and taught me some things I didn’t even know my camera and also my I phone were capable of! I would very highly recommend going out with Harry to anyone considering this tour!!! Thanks again, Harry!

What a riot driving & jostling (sometimes fishtailing on the off-road dune trails) through the valley!! Harry skillfully maneuvered to many great viewing spots, ensuring we got to the right area for sunset photos. Also glad we didn't subject our rental vehicle to the official route.

AMAZING AWESOME Sunrise tour with Harry. What else can I say other than if you're in Monument Valley you MUST book this tour. Aim for the earlier one because Harry will show you some places to get some Milky Way astrophotography. Pack a tripod, but if you forget Harry usually carries one you can borrow, he is after all an amazing photographer!

Our tour guide was friendly, fun and very knowledgeable about the history and sites. We did not go on the Sunrise tour as I had a blood sugar low (hypoglycemia) episode at 4 am and was not ready to go on tour for 6 am.

I attended both Sunset and Sunrise tours. The guide, Harry Nez was an excellent guide who knows about photography. He kindly took us to the best photo spots at the right time and gave us the advice for the angles. I would like to come back with my photography friends.

We cannot express our thanks and gratitude to Harry Nez enough. He was knowledable, kind, thoughtful and such a great guide. The weather changed to snow during our tour but Harry was a great driver - he stopped to show us so many neat places, took great pictures of us. He shared many stories about himself, his culture and him growing up. We are very tahnkful he was our guide and would thoroughly recommend him and this tour company to anyone.

The new moon just rising with Venus beyond East Mitten in the first faint glow of dawn! Each guide has their own specialty and their own "take" on the tour. Our guide happened to be an expert photographer, and devoted a lot of time to giving each of us tips on how to take fabulous photos of whatever we were looking at. As it turns out, I found that very interesting and useful, because I DID want to take fabulous photos. I learned some useful technical skills in addition to the history of the area. I overheard some of the other guides giving entirely different tours--focused on, say, the plants growing in each place, or the traditional stories associated with each place. I don't think that you can pick your tour, per se, but there is a lot to be said about being open to whatever focus you get.

Had a great time driving around Monument Valley with Harry, definitely recommend this experience! He took us into the backcountry where we wouldn't be bale to get to otherwise and provided information about what we were seeing.

John was an incredible tour guide. He made sure the tour was lively and informative. We heard stories about the Navajo culture throughout the tour. He was also an amazing photographer and helped everyone get a good photo at all the right spots. I can’t imagine visiting Monument Valley without this tour!

An early start worth making

Our guide, Harry, was a superb host and given he had a truck load of photographers to shepherd stopped in plenty of locations to make the most of the early morning light while getting us to the best locations for catching the rising sun on time (and telling us to look behind us for absolutely gorgeous colour catching distant buttes). Being a photographer himself Harry also gave out tips on making the most of our ride out into the back country - he certainly earned his own tip!

Such a beautiful area. We truly enjoyed getting to see some back areas you can’t otherwise travel. Really enjoyed the flute and drum music at the one stop. I did hope for a lot more Navajo history from our guide but he didn’t really explain much.
