Chuck was a terrific host. Not only a food tour, but a history of Philadelphia. Easy walking with tastes of Philly cheese steak, warm and yummy pretzels and fresh made donuts.

I came down to Philly from NY during our mid-February break and always have a great time on food tours; they're a great way to experience the city and try a ton of new foods in a short time. This tour with Barry was no exception. I happened to be the only one on my Tuesday afternoon tour, and Barry showed me a fantastic time. It was a great mix of history, sights, information, and of course, a lot of food! Barry was a great host. The tour was well-paced and the food samples were all excellent. (I think being the only one on the tour helped me get a little extra, which I'm definitely not complaining about!) Overall, I had a great time and would definitely recommend this tour. You won't leave hungry!

Alex was an outstanding guide. He has a strong knowledge of the city's history and architecture. He's a longtime resident and studied at Temple, so he knows the city very well. He took us to outstanding, unusual stops where we had Afghan dumplings (wow!), Georgian soup dumplings, fried chicken with pretzel breading, artisan donuts (everyone loved the lavendar strawberry), and of course a classic Philly Cheesesteak (but with provalone rather than Whiz, thankfully). Highly recommended.

An excellent food tour of Philadelphia that manages to tie in a lot of culture and history about the dishes on the menu. This tour was delicious as it was informative. We got to visit places that most tourists would miss. Our guide, Alex, was very insightful into the Philly food scene and provided a lot of local knowledge about other aspects of the city. 5 stars. 10 out of 10.

DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME

With one exception (the cheesesteak), the food bore no resemblance to what was advertised. It was basically a collection of skimpy pieces of junk food - 1/2 a pretzel, fried chicken, donuts, fried cheese curds, a doughy, savory pie, and a CORN DOG, are you kidding me? We liked our tour guide, who was personable and very knowledgeable about Phily history, but the food, which was the reason we went, was very disappointing.
