Lutande tornet i Pisa är en av de mest igenkännbara byggnaderna på vår planet, och det är även ett ikoniskt under som alla borde uppleva. Och det finns inget bättre sätt att göra det på än att gå upp för trappan och få en fantastisk utsikt från toppen av det lutande tornet. Det här klocktornet från renässansen, som tog 200 år att bygga och är 56 meter högt, började luta under uppbyggnaden. Ingen vet med säkerhet varför det skedde! En del säger att det är resultatet av en arkitektonisk felberäkning, medan andra anser att den mjuka lerjorden är orsaken. Det var först i slutet av 1900-talet och början av 2000-talet som lutningen blev stabiliserad.

Efter att ha lämnat in din biljett till biljettkontrollanten får du ta dig uppför de 294 trappstegen till toppen. Du har 30 minuter på dig att njuta av utsikten från toppen, medan du tittar på det grästäckta Piazza del Duomo. Efter en halvtimme på toppen av det här berömda UNESCO-listade landmärket får du omsorgsfullt gå tillbaka nedför trappan. Du kommer garanterat att ha en fantastisk historia att berätta för släkten och vännerna därhemma.

Hittade att vi bokade för tre vuxna och du ändrade det till en bokning för två vuxna. Att få reda på att det på grund av biljettens tidpunkt inte var möjligt att se katedralen eftersom det fanns en funktion där och den var stängd för allmänheten vid den tiden. Vi var tvungna att köpa nya biljetter! ! ! Upptäckte också att vi var med i en grupp när vi inte bokade som grupp, bara som familj. Viator måste kontrollera sina fakta innan de tar pengar från människor.

Bokad tur till katedralen och Pisa-tornet. Fick dock bara biljett till Pisa-tornet eftersom katedralen var stängd. Ingen återbetalning erbjuden eller mottagen. Bäst att köpa biljetter när du är där från informationscentret. Njöt av Pisa-tornet och de 251 stegen till toppen.

Tråkigt att vi inte kunde delta på turnén

Våra flygningar ställdes in på grund av flygkontrollproblem. Vi bad om att turnén skulle omplaneras den dag vi nästa kunde få ett flyg till Pisa eftersom det var utom vår kontroll. Operatören ville inte göra detta och sa att vi skulle behöva betala fullt ut för en ny turné när vi anländer.

Operatören mötte oss som angett och gav oss vår biljett. Det var en tidsinställd biljett och vi var 10 minuter lätt, så gick med i den vanliga kö. Vid vårt utsedda hem gick vi in i det lutande tornet, fantastisk upplevelse. Men när vi kom ut kunde vi inte komma in i katedralen - trots att det var en del av våra biljetter. Istället blev vi hänvisade till andra änden och fick vänta i 30 minuter.

Köpte biljett men var tvungen att lösa in biljetterna först. Infopunkten kunde inte hjälpa oss och meddelade att det finns någon framför tornet med en flagga. Vi gick runt i cirka 20 minuter men såg ingen - någon med flagga eller någon som kunde hjälpa oss att lösa in biljetterna. Det slutade med att vi spenderade tid på att jaga våra biljetter istället för att klättra upp i tornet och njuta av vår tid. Jag skulle starkt rekommendera att köpa dina biljetter någon annanstans.

As per our records, you didn’t show up at the meeting point consequently, your reservation was considered as a no show. Furthermore, let us clarify that the Pisa Info Point is not linked with our agency and that the meeting point instructions are clearly reported on Viator’s voucher as follows: “Before you go. Collect your ticket at 04:20 pm in PISA - In front of the LEANING TOWER entrance Our Assistant will wait for you, holding a "CAF" Tour & Travel Sign. Lovely Tower Overpriced tickets, not skip the line, disorganized

The Tower is great to see and fairly easy to climb. This ticket while advertised as skip the line, it is not. Also the time was supposed to be 16:30 but it was actually 16:45. Though not a big deal, if you are on a tight schedule it can be. Trying to find the "yellow sign" was impossible and had to call to ask where they were to which they responded "Oh, I'll call the girl".

It was a little tricky to find the meeting point on our own (Google maps doesnt understand cnr of) but the information counter mid way down the left hand side of the square (when facing the tower) were very helpful. The operator arrived on rime and delivered our tickets. While the cost of the ticket was slightly more the benefit of getting our ticket without queuing and getting the timeslot that worked for us was worth it. This is not a guided tour it is about somone else buying your ticket on your behalf in advance. That worked perfectly for us. The Leaning Tower organises have it down to a fine art. You ownly queue when it is 5-10 mins before your timeslot. Make sure you have no bagg with you because you can't take it with you. There are lockers available where the ticket counter is. All in all a great experience.

This was a great way to get to climb the tower. It was easy to meet up with the tour guide at the corner of the cathedral Square to exchange our voucher for the ticket which had been booked the day before. I didn't realise that entrance to the cathedral was included so had already visited the cathedral as part of another tour ticket.

Overcharged for our tickets by viator

The visit to the leaning tower of Pisa on 10 July, was wonderful. However, Viator over charged us for our tickets. I booked 4 tickets online through the viator website and was charged €128\-. We waited for the agent at the designated spot from 2.30pm. Our tickets were for the 4.30pm entrance. When the CAF agent finally showed up at 4.30 pm with our tickets for the 5.00 pm entrance; after 2 phone calls, we discovered that the tickets she gave us stated that the cost for four tickets was €72/- and not €128/-. There was a difference of €56/- euros. I called up the number on my mobile voucher for the third time, but did not receive a clear explanation for the extra charge. There were tickets available at the leaning tower of Pisa official counter for €72/- for four people. We could have booked directly at the counter and entered for the earlier time slot. When I booked on the Viator website it seemed to imply that tickets weren’t easily available. We were disappointed and felt cheated of €56/- Euros. When questioned, the CAF agent’s response as to why we were overcharged, was “viator is expensive, they always overcharge” and she dismissed us. I would definitely not book any more tickets through viator. It was such a bad experience!
