Good but a bit too long

The good: view is beautiful and stunning. A whole different side of the island. The bad: 6 hours is too long. The rappelling is holding a rope while descending a hill and the rock slide is tiny so if you are expecting an interesting long walk through the river this is it.

Isolated and beautiful

The tour took us to beautifylul areas that were not accessible to the public, so we were able to see isolated sections of the river and caves. This is an easy going hike filled with information about the area and its history. However, it does not cover any large walk-through caverns, just little ones.

Had a great time doing this adventure with Omar! He is very helpful and made us feel safe. The experience is once in a lifetime for me. The hiking was intense for someone like me who works out 6x a week. If you have good cardio, you can do this! Walking through the river and through big rocks was harder than I anticipated but you will not regret it. You will have to push yourself like you’ve never done before. If people who are not fit can do this adventure, you can do it too!

This hike was absolutely incredible! If you visit PR this is a must do! The tour guides were very knowledgeable and showed great generosity. Even though we didn’t bring our phones they took several pictures and videos for the entire group. The scenery was amazing and something I will never forget. I highly recommend this tour 10/10.

Tour canceled without telling us!!

This was the most frustrating experience of the week we stayed in PR. We took a taxi an hour and 4 minutes to meet at the Arecibo observatory only to find out that no tours took off from there. The gate guard told us to walk up the road about 2 minutes to a clearing where he thought maybe tour groups met so we gladly walked the 2 minutes and waited, and waited, and finally decided to send a text to the tour guide telling them were we at the meeting place. Turns out, they canceled the tour without telling us! No emails, no texts, no phone calls, no nothing. The first time they responded back was at 8:08am,(tour started at 8am) saying they had flash flooding the night before and it was too dangerous so they canceled. Since there were no Ubers or taxis and since we were in the middle of nowhere, my wife and I walked 2 hours straight in 93 degree heat on a super dangerous road until a kind young woman told us it was too dangerous to walk on the road and had her mom take us to the nearest town, still an hours walk away. If you're going to cancel, you might want to tell the customers you canceled. We left at 6:45am and got back to our hotel at 12:45...what a HUGE waste of time.

Hi the tour did not operated do bad weather was cancel previous all you were full refund. but saw notification later. I even contacted a taxi company i give number. Transportation in this side of the island limited arriving by taxi or uber is posible but then not from here there limited to metro area only why is setting a pick up from sju or renting a car best choice the car problem you have even in the afternoon. we are sorry that was you experience but transportation to get to us and going back is up to the guest. We try to help the most we can but guest most coordinated transportation

Off the beaten path in the caves of Puerto Rico

Jose and his team were super knowledgeable and passionate of their environment. It was an off the beaten path adventure. It was as if we had the forest all to ourselves. I would recommend this for anyone with good level of fitness who likes to explore. You won’t be disappointed!

We got to see a cave that was discovered personally by tour guide Jose. The other tour guide was super fun and good at finding spots in the river to float down on the way back. Both guides were very knowledgeable of Arecibo and general Puerto Rican history.

Efrain and Omar were very friendly and very knowledgeable of the environment / ecosystem. They were helpful for those of use who needed little extra time to get through the trek. It was amazing. Definitely bring sneakers or hiking shoes, snacks or light sandwiches and water. Be ready for fun and to sleep well after the tour. The ride to the location are small mountain roads be ready for that. You should know how to swim and be ready to get dirty.

The tour was canceled due to weather. I totally understand these things happen. However, we were notified of this change at via text at 11:45pm the night before an 8am check-in. We were informed there was space a few days later on Thursday. We texted back we would check availability to confirm. Which we did at around noon on Wednesday. No reply from the company. Tried calling, no answer. 6.5 hours later, we texted again asking for confirmation that we could attend. It’s over an hours drive to the rendezvous, something was not going to undertake at 7am without confirmation. NO text Reply! Called again, no answer. 8am on Thursday morning, a voicemail was left and a text received checking on our ETA. Really??? Their communication skills suck! Vastly in need of improvement! The worst part is, my son was extremely disappointed we could not share this experience together.

This was definitely a memorable adventure. The tour guides were extremely knowledgeable about the area and it’s history. They made us feel safe at all times. My family and I definitely enjoyed this!!!! Don’t hesitate about booking this tour! You will not be disappointed.
