Very interesting overview of Richmond History

A great overview of many aspects of Richmond history and sites. Ray had plenty of information and shared many stories. The pace was good, lots of walking but very manageable. Having the headsets was a great idea as we could easily hear everything. After the tour we were able to go back and look at some other things that were talked about on the tour. Thanks Ray.

The history was very good. The starting point of the tour is poor. There is nothing around. Poor parking and no restrooms. No headsets were offered.

We are very pleased you enjoyed the guides presentation on your tour. We have since we began in 2014, started our Downtown tours from the convention center, where our patrons find unlimited free parking, the only spot downtown to find such. We are pleased our guide took you before the tours start to restrooms around the corner, one of three rest accommodations nearby. It was unfortunate the guide was unable to pick-up the radios prior to the tour’s start and has assured us that this will not occur again. We hope to see you for another of our tours.

Our Guide, Jason, was friendly, knowledgeable and encouraged questions. His tour was diverse in subject matter and included details and facts about populations, culture, architecture and politics. I highly rate this tour for anyone looking for a guided two hour walk to thru the city.

Our guide was knowledgeable about the history but not about the history's connection to the present and seemed more interested in speed than in assuring attendees had a full educational experience. (In 90 min. there were 2 bathroom breaks but no time to read historical markers or to take pictures without falling behind.) She chose to hold rather than wear the mic; it often was too far from her mouth, making it even more difficult to hear through the poor-quality earbuds. This was not a $38/person experience, let alone a $150+ experience for our family.

My Richmond walking tour with Kathy was wonderful! It was my first time visiting Richmond, so I was interested in an overview of the area, but also a tour with specific insights and points I wouldn’t find elsewhere. That's exactly what Kathy gave me. A native Richmonder, she highlighted specific buildings and neighborhoods and gave me an idea of what the city was like in the past. This history and architecture buff enjoyed it all. And Kathy has a great, welcoming, and very friendly personality. Well done! Five stars.

Our tour guide Kathy was fantastic! She had so much information to share and was more than willing to answer all of our questions. We learned a lot about the downtown area and the changes it has seen in recent decades. We also really appreciated how she pointed out so many details about the Women’s Monument and the Washington Equestrian Monument in Capital Square. We definitely recommend this tour!
