Beautiful sights, but be prepared to wait around a lot.
Colleen_N, maj 2024
We arrived on time, got on our bus with 4 other people. About 20 minutes into the drive, the driver holds up a laminated schedule and says, "this is the zip lining we will be going to" We all spoke up and said "No! We are going snorkeling" so he got on his phone and then drove us to the beach. Once there, we had to wait an hour on the boat for another group of 4 people to join us. Then, while we were out at the 1st stop of snorkeling, we were just getting back on board when another group joined us making us wait another 20 minutes before we could leave for the 2nd stop. I understand trying to get the most people they can, but not at the expense of all the other people that arrived on time. We spent more time waiting than we did actually doing the excursion.
Great multi part tour by a family operated business
Celine_F, maj 2024
Family owned and operated business!! They show you the way the locals live and work which I appreciate, the touristy stuff isn’t for me so keep that in mind with this review! George picked us up at the bottom of the hill outside the port which was a little confusing but a quick phone call and text to the owner got that sorted out very quickly. George drove us around all day and told us all about the history of the island, about the local buildings, recent news and even some flora and fauna. This snorkel trip took us to three beautiful sites but was mostly unguided. There were only 4 of us on the tour which was ideal in my opinion, the other couple less experienced snorkelers. The first sight we were able to see starfish and the bottom was only 8 feet down so you could swim down very easily and check out the starfish. We were told if we were very careful and we could gently pick them up and place them back down to look at them up close under water. This was also a warm up snorkel. The second stop was a beautiful reef with a viewing area to a massive drop off. Didn’t get exact details on depth or anything like that because we kind of snorkeled alone. The person or “guide” was mostly just a captain who would then let us off the boat and then would go off snorkeling himself often not with us. We were free to explore the reef area ourselves. The drop off was incredibly impressive and, if you’re an experienced snorkeler and/or diver, was very cool to swim down and check out some of the formations. Very beautiful corals, not nearly as dead as other areas that have snorkeled. The third stop was a super rusty shipwreck that’s partially sticking out of the water, very close to the drop off. Didn’t get very many details on it again because he was just captain of the boat. He didn’t have lots of information for us about anything really. Nevertheless, it was super cool to swim amongst the wreck and around the corals that have grown onto the wreck and check out all the fish that now called this wreck home. After returning to the boat, we went back to the dock and learned that the wreck is over 100 years old, but that was really all he knew about it. Now in my opinion, not having a guide in the water is fine and I’m honestly more comfortable just snorkeling and exploring places, knowing where my boat is parked, and I can return you know within my timeframe when I’m ready, but for those less experienced that can be scary. The boat was small, older and “well loved” which doesn’t bother me because I’d rather do things the way the locals do but that’s not for everyone. George was waiting for us and we met Luigi, a super friendly monkey (pet of one of the owners) and got back in our chauffeured van. We added on ATV’s which was a fantastic addition. After a short ride with George again telling us about the things we passed on our way to the other side of the island we arrived at the family’s land. The ride took place in the hills behind their property and was expertly run by Angel and Tyrell, George’s brothers. They took us up and down the hills overlooking the other harbor where there happened to be a large cruise ship parked. The tour was just my bf and I and the two guys who made sure we were safe on the ATV’s as well as had a good ride. They also took video and pictures of us riding the hills and airdropped it to us for no extra charge. George then brought us back to our ship! Highly recommend this tour!
Hidden Gem of an Adventure in Paradise
Benjamin_M, apr. 2024
We had a fantastic adventure! Our guide for the day, Daniel, noticed our cruise ship arrived early so he made sure he was there to pick us up when we got off the boat. He then took us to some scenic overlooks and other points of interest because we were early. He was very nice, knowledgeable and we are lucky to have had him as our guide! The snorkeling was amazing and beautiful. I really like how we got to swim from where we viewed the starfish to the blue channel to admire all the scenery on the way. The guides on the boat were also great and friendly. After snorkeling we got to relax in the water (or boat) for a bit and they even let us jump off the top deck into the water. The ride back featured some wonderful homemade banana bread and juice to refresh us after the snorkeling and swimming. Daniel drove us back to our cruise ship and even asked if there was anyplace else we would like to see. You cannot go wrong with this adventure. The people are wonderful and the snorkeling is excellent! Also, we did not see any other groups where we stopped so it was as if we had the whole area to ourselves and there were only about 12 of us in the group (no one else from our cruise ship). Definitely a hidden gem!
Wonderful

Fabulous experience, they even had a capuchin monkey you can hold! A++++! Half day tour you simply must do even if you are a novice.
Louie was amazing!
Kacee_M, apr. 2024
The reef was beautiful and the starfish were very cool but it was SOOOOO busy, by no fault of the tour guide, however. The guides were great. However so many people made it a bit chaotic and difficult for a novice. I did love the monkey, Louie though! He was adorable and mischievous!

We had a great time! Kind and helpful staff. Appreciate the good communication with 5 Star. We will book again!
Good snorkeling, a bit disorganized.
Regan_R, mars 2024
Snorkeling sights were good. Team was very disorganized on times for the tour. Lots of waiting. Once out on the boat, the fish were amazing.
Water and waves were way...
Paul_B, mars 2024
Water and waves were way too rough and high for snorkeling. The communication for pickup and tour schedule was not informative, partially due to poor WiFi.
Great snorkel trip
Susan_T, mars 2024
Our driver Enrick was so kind and knowledgeable. We enjoyed the ride to the boat. The snorkel boat was comfortable and the snorkeling was great.
a nice mix of snorkeling
nancy_g, feb. 2024
Our driver Daniel was excellent. He taught us a lot and we felt safe in some challenging traffic. The starfish were not too exciting.. but a good place to test out the snorkeling. The second stop.. the reef and drop off.. were more interesting and the crew kept us safe and helped us see a lot. It was a bit windy and choppy, but we still saw many types of fish and cool coral. The guides are excellent! We can't say enough about how they made sure everyone in the group was included and knew what to do. The last stop, the shipwreck was much more interesting than I thought it would be.
Worth it!

We had a fabulous time. Wonderful snorkeling and our driver, Denzel, was great! Would recommend for a day in Roatan.
Best excursion on our trip
Tim_J, feb. 2024
This experience was great - the driver picked us up was very friendly and after a drive to the north end of the island we arrived and everyone was helpful and all of our needs were met by the divers who quided us around the reefs. The day started out rainy and cool but the water was warm. I was concern that the water would not be clear but pleaasently suprised - the colors would have been better if the sun was out - we will use 5 star tours on our next visit to Roatan
Absolutely FANTASTIC!!!
Becki_C, feb. 2024
BEST, SAFE, HELPFUL! Best snorkel stops I've ever been on. Safe equipment. Many hands to help the weak, the new snorklers, point out great sites. THEY KNOW THEIR JOB AND HOW TO TAKE CARE OF GUESTS. And Luigie, the monkey, he was a terrific bonus! 😊 I came in on cruise ship, always a bit leery of travel in unknown territory, nothing to worry over. I have already booked next excursion with them.
Cancelation without notice

Trip cancelation without notice. We would have left our snorkeling things and ship towels behind if we had been notified.
Excellent snorkel trip
Allan_P, jan. 2024
My wife and I went on the 3 stop trip this week. There were no cruise ships in Roatan that day, so we had a 'private' tour. The three stops were interesting and different. There were dozens of large starfish at the first stop. The second in the channel had a great reef and lots of fish. Our dive leader found conch shells with hermit crabs inside. The shipwreck was in shallow water and it was cool to snorkel around and above the remains of the ship. Overall an excellent adventure.
Worth every penny
PETER_B, jan. 2024
The ship wreck was pretty cool. Swimming to the drop off was a work out, but worth the swim. I recommend using a life vest to swim out to the edge of the drop off. The guides were great, the drivers were waiting and ready to get us to our destination. It's was one of the best excursions I have done.
Fun time, but not long enough
Robert_K, jan. 2024
Excursion went very smoothly with a professional and informative driver. The snorkeling itself was a lot of fun and we saw plenty of fish. The only complaint I have is that the snorkeling felt very rushed. We spent only 10-15 minutes in the water at each of the 3 spots which means we spent more time in the car going to and from the location than we did in the water snorkeling. For the cost, some additional time in the water would have been greatly appreciated.
Wonderful excursion

Easy pickup, great staff and guides, beautiful water. Perfect. Saw a 5 foot Barracuda, monkey, etc. Loved it
Highly recommend

Roatan is one of my favorite places in the world. I think their barrier reef, though the second largest in the world was more fun to explore than the Great barrier reef area that I went to in Australia. And that is saying a lot because the Great barrier reef is amazing. The guides were phenomenal. You just can't lose when you have the mix of the Mayan culture with island culture. They were diving for conch shell and cut one up right on the dock and let us eat some. Just know that the airport will confiscate any conch shells, so you can't take them home unfortunately even in checked bags, because they are plentiful and beautiful. (We tried.) We went on a couple different dives in different locations in addition to this type, but we liked all of them for different reasons. There are definitely different species and different amounts of fish in different locations around the island. On this tour we saw the beautiful starfish and other species, but on other tours we saw thicker amounts of other fish, an eel and tons of giant lobsters. I'm glad that we did both snorkeling tours.
Very short but beautiful experience and colorful fish and beautiful reef.
MANIVANNAN_E, dec. 2023
The places were so beautiful. We did not have enough time in the last two snorkeling spots. we were rushed to complete the course. Little to no description of the place given by guides on the boat. The person who welcomed us spoke good English, but did not join in the snorkel trip. we hardly spent 45 mins in total for all 3 spots combined. Highly priced for such a short trip. Would like to give 5 stars if duration was at least 1.5 to 2 hours.
