Vi hade en så otrolig tid med vår guide Budi. Han var kunnig, vänlig och visade till och med upp några av Balis dolda pärlor. Vattenfallet var höjdpunkten på vår resa. Tack så mycket för din gästfrihet. Vi hade en viskning och ser fram emot att boka igen under vår vistelse på Bali.

Fantastic Tour of Bali

Our guide, Ballon, went above and beyond what we expected. Not only did he drive us to all the stops, but he took pictures for us all day. He was friendly, easy to communicate with, and on time. I would recommend this tour to anyone!

Good time with bad guides

This was not my first time in Bali and I have dealt with other companies and guides. With that said, I guess you get what you pay for. The driver/guide texted me at almost 8pm the night before and asked to pick us up at 4am even though it says 5am because the line for Lempuyang temple is long. We agreed with 430am because our hotel was providing breakfast but they were still late. I said “they” because it was 2 men, I never had 2 guides/drivers but found out later it’s to take turns driving and sleeping. Yes, they had an extra row in the back for sleeping. On our way to the temple we got a flat (which is fine because things happen) but they didn’t even know how to change it, my boyfriend had to show them after they insisted they didn’t need help. In addition they’re spare tire looked 15 years old and was totally bald. And instead of throwing the flat tire in the back of the car they tried to re-screw it under the car and wasted more time. In addition, when we went to the waterfall part we asked if we needed our towel and if we should wear our water shoes. The main guy said we can take a pic in front of the waterfall and not get wet and we would be fine with flip-flops. Wrong!!! If you have water shoes wear them, it is rocky and the tide is strong. Also, you will get wet especially if you want to take a nice picture in front or near the waterfall because it is deep inside this rock formation and the spray is strong. We also asked how long the walk is and they said 15 min but they didn’t say it was like 100 huge uneven stairs. Overall, we had a good time with each other but these guys were young and inexperienced. For instance, they didn’t give us any kind of highlights, tips or insights on any places. One knew English better than the other so when he slept if we had a question the other couldn’t answer anything. They seemed hard working and maybe they will get better but I would book a private tour or with someone with more experience. This tour was basically 16 hours long 430am-830pm so it was not worth it for me.

Decent tour but misleading description and a lot of time spent in transit.

The tour itself is good. There are a few discrepancies with the booking process. BEFORE you book, it says it is a private tour and all the admissions fees are included; AFTER you book, it says is is a shared tour and none of the admissions fees are included. This discrepancy cost around an additional US$30 per person, and an additional hour or so in traffic dropping of the other tour participants. Also, the lunch spot is good, but much more expensive than the restaurants you may go to in town; and they only accepted cash. Most of the aforementioned admissions are also cash only; so you need to bring a good deal of cash with you.

Nice selection of activities but superficial approach

The choice of activities is great, but there are some things that need improvement. Just as a comparison, we took a similar daily tour with another agency two days ago and our driver was also excellent tour guide who shared so much information with us about the places we visited. We were expecting the same from this trip, but it wasn't the case. Our driver was literally only a driver and he did not share any information about the places we visited. We had to ask him things and even then the responses were very short and limited. So if you expect to learn something from this trip, it's not going to happen. The only exception was the coffee plantation because over there the local staff are trained to share more information about the process of coffee production with tourists. I felt that this trip was more superficial, just going from place to place to take nice photos. Of course we all want nice photos from our trips, but at the same time we also want to learn something more about the local culture and places we visit. NOTE: Just to warn you, be prepared that the queue for taking photo at the Gate of Haven can be up to 2 hours waiting time. The travel agency cannot control this, it is just the way it is even if you go alone.

OK but some issues

Trip started rough as I’d been told that I’d be picked up at 4am instead of 5am. I go to bed super early and wake up at 3:15am only to see another message sent overnight that my pick up was moved back to 5am since the other guests weren’t willing to leave early to beat the line at Lempuyang. Once we do go pick up the other guests at their hotel, we waited until past 5:30 until I got out of the car and insisted we leave. By that time I was already ready to ask for a refund. The company needs a better policy to deal with people who don’t show up at their appointed pickup time. The actual experience at Lempuyang Temple is FAR from how astounding it looks in the pictures. They use a mirror to create that iconic photo, you will have to wait hours for your turn, and you drive 2 hours each way to get there. Unless you’re an Instagram junkie, I’m not sure it’s worth it. The rest of the day at the Tukud Cepang waterfall and Tegallagang rice terrace was nice, as was the lunch spot and place for kopi luwak. The day got a lot better as it went on, which is why I’m giving it 3 stars. My driver Nik was also courteous and professional and spoke pretty good English (although it made me nervous that he told me only got like 2-3 hours of sleep the night before).

My Sunday Break

I spent my Sunday break by exploring some places in Bali, like Klungkung, Ubud and Gianyar. Visit to Pura Lempuyang and Tukad Cepung Waterfall was great (incl. climbing up the place). Then having lunch in D'yoni Restaurant in Tampaksiring + sipping coffee in Santi Agrowisata Plantation was wonderful experience. Apart from that staying in Legian during this trip was nice. Our guide, Pak Sieung was helpful. He explained many things about Bali & Balinese culture and he is patient enough

A don’t miss experience

Hey.. First of all a big shout out to Bali travels and our driver & guide for the day - Mr. Jiro.. This trip can be summarized in a single sentence..”Truly worth it”. When we were there speaking to a few others, it turned out that our trip (me and my wife) was a short trip..compared to our 7 days in Bali..people were staying there for 1 to 2 months.. and we discovered it to be true, Bali truly is a place where the more you explore, you realize the days you have are less.. with such a short period and so much to explore..the best thing for us to do..get a planned trip..and we were lucky ..coz the trip is immaculately planned… Our trip started at 5am with the pickup from the hotel to cover the 2 hour drive from Seminyak to Lempuyank Temple..We started early to avoid the rush but still ended up waiting for a while there after reaching the top..The pictures came out great though..Next up was the water palace where you just get awe struck with the sheer number of ponds built in a small area..Again the photos we got 👍.. We then had our lunch enroute the waterfall location..the reason i mention this is coz the restaurant where we had our lunch overlooks a huge area of rice/ paddy fields..again a perfect spot for a few more pictures.. The waterfall itself is special with it being nestled between huge rocks..(have a lot of steps to climb up and down though, be ready for a bit of leg ache 😜).. Lastly we completed our trip with the rice terrace where there are loads of activities to do..from jungle swing and zip line to rope cycling..A picturesque location indeed.. Now this review won’t be complete without a special mention about Mr. Jiro.. Our guide and driver for the trip definitely was top notch..His time management and overall handling of the trip was super.. and the fact that though there was a planned schedule and we were not rushed, where maybe i would have if i was in his shoes itself makes me give him 5 stars (if not higher).. Definitely will recommend him to my other friends when they visit to bali as he was kind enough to help us out with details at the locations but also was kind enough to answer any queries i had when traveling enroute regarding things or any random bali topic i had on my mind

Interesting but focused on taking pictures

Tour guide was good at explaining spots and willing to answer other questions about the Bali’s religion, beliefs and culture. Was caring. Entrance fees for waterfall was weird but not expensive. Would be better if he joined us during lunch/ certain stops instead of staying near the car while we explored the place on our own.

My friend and I went to some famous spots in Bali with Jero Nyoman, very enthusiastic personality and always joking. He took a lot of picture for us and bring good vibes all days long. His English is very good , so no problem to understand each other ☺

Amazing waterfalls

The waterfalls are the highlight - secluded and so refreshing! Our small group of three was the only one there, so it felt special. Unfortunately, the guide on this particular day was new and didn’t provide much knowledge or info about Bali or the sights along the way. We sat for almost two hours for a photo at Heaven’s Gate but didn’t learn anything about it. He was not a travel guide in any way, just a driver, which was disappointing. That said, he was friendly and efficient. Also, he forgot to provide bottled water as promised. The stops are all worthwhile. Very beautiful. Lunch is a bit pricey. A good, but not great tour.

This was a great tour. We explored Temple Lempuyang, Tirta Gangga, Waterfall and Coffee Plantation. Our guide Dewa was great, trustworthy, knowledgeable, and always anticipated our needs. He gave us great information about the island and the places we visited. Gave us time to explore on our own as well as show us where we needed to go and things to do at these locations. We spent 2 weeks in Bali and were able to have Dewa as our guide 3 of those days, and those days were always great. We would highly recommend Dewa and this tour for your trip! Thank you so much for helping to make our trip a memorable one!

This tour is just perfect ! The driver Dewa is fantastic, he took awesome pictures, he was very kind and explained a lot about the Balinese culture. I definitely recommend him. You will not be disappointed :) I booked the tour solo and met two other ladies with whom I had a lot of fun

this really is an amazing day out and one not to be missed. Our driver/guide was Budi and we couldnt have asked for a better guide, he waas knowledgable, helpful and couldnt do enough for us to make our day extra special. We saw and did so much in the time we had and it was all thanks to him. i would definately do this tour again and can highly reccommend it ,especially if you get Budi!
