Simone the great!

Simone was the best tour guide. He knows his audience and took very good care of use. Although our excursion didn’t go as planned (traffic did not allow us to spend time in Amalfi after Revello), Simone was gracious and accommodating. We would love to travel all of Italy with Simone!

Really nice trip/tour , spectacular landscapes , with nice towns . Our favourite town was Ravello , so you must go there . Our tour guides were really nice , and accommodating, and provided nice informative information during the tour . Also a nice bit of music and encouraging singing was really fun , Keep up the good work guys . Highly recommend this to see Amalfi coast in 1 day

A great way to visit Amalfi

A great way to travel to Amalfi and Postiano. Our trip was postponed several times because of bad weather but we were always given 48 hours notice and managed to do the trip on our last day. Our guides, Simon, Jerry and Alba looked after us really well and gave us information on the towns we visited. Certainly a better way to see the Almafi coast than travelling via bus/coach.

Too much packed into one day trip

It was a trip that let us experience Amalfi, Ravello and Positano but there was very limited time to spend in any of the areas. Ravello was beautiful and well worth the bus ride, which was an experience in itself. It was just way too rushed in each place.

Not worth the money

A waste of money! Bus driver was terrible. Meeting pick up was a 25 minute walk for us. I called the night before to let them know I was at Hotel Capodimonte and they still insisted I get picked up at the bus depot! Meanwhile they actually passed our hotel to turn around and another pick up point was right down the hill at another hotel. A 2 minute walk from our hotel. The bus ride was almost a whole hour. Port was a dump and pushy Russian group came up behind our group and cut in line, bothered everyone by pushing in every corner or window to take pictures and videos throughout the entire boat ride. So obnoxious and rude! It was pathetic! Our two young ladies were very kind and personable. Worst was the waste of time by arriving in Amalfi and getting on a bus and taking almost an hour to get to Ravello for about only an hour. Absurd. Left us about an hour in crow Amalfi to find a restaurant, squeeze in at late lunchtime before close for siesta. 15 minutes to eat lunch and hike back downtown to meet the tour with tons of other groups getting on boats too at the small port is Amalfi! Not good at all . Russian group behavior again obnoxious and rude pushing themselves into small spaces in order to take their private pictures and videos!

Great guides but rushed

We had a wonderful tour leader, Maria, who was great answering questions and making sure everyone was where they should be. However we got bumped from the day we booked to the following day which messed up our plans. We were given no real reason but later found out the tour did occur on the day we booked. I assume they were balancing numbers but we were not given a choice. We were told the boat we were put on was larger than normal-- alot of people. We selected the Ravello option. This was the reason we selected this particular tour. Ravello was beautiful and quieter than the other towns but we had little time there so could not do what we had hoped to do. The whole tour seemed rushed. None of this is the fault of the excellent tour guides and boat staff, all of whom were very friendly, up beat and helpful. My advice would be to take a Ravello tour separately, and then book a smaller boat tour for the Amalfi coast.

The scenery was the best part of the trip, sitting at the top of the boat. The guide Maria gave us some good tips on getting a good view of Amalfi & Positano and the cathedral in Amalfi.

Waste of money. Very disappointed. Too crowded. Don’t book it.

We were looking forward to this trip and paid a lot for it. It was so disappointing. We were not told the boat would start from Naples meaning we were stuck inside for the whole of the outward journey. We would not have booked if we were told this. The boat was crowded and no safety messages so I can only presume there were life jackets. The coastline was beautiful and Maria, our guide , was very friendly. When we got to both Amalfi and Positano both places were crowded to the point you couldn’t see the towns. Our trip up to Ravello was good but not enough time. Less than an hour so you couldn’t see the sights and have lunch (we ended up with a sandwich on the go). Back to the coastal towns. There were so many tourists you couldn’t get anywhere so was a waste of time. In both towns we, once again, had about an hour in each. Really poor. We spent a lot of time queuing, especially on and off the boat. And the boat didn’t go from Sorrento as specified. It went from another town along the coast. Overall a very poor experience. We came away with the impression of the tour companies and boat companies that they just wanted to cram as many folks on to make as much money as they could. No consideration for the paying customer. If you want to go on one of these I suggest you don’t book until you get there so you can see what you are getting. However I wouldn’t bother due to the number of people. A real waste of our money.

Terrible it’s was to crowded on the ferry how it reads you go round the scenery but you can’t see a thing if I was you get a private. Boat tour this is not just crowded and gets you to A to B

Great boat ride to both Amalfi and Positano. The boat was large enough that you don't get sea sick. Maria was excellent, she met us when we got off bus from hotel. She quickly learned everyone's names which is amazing as the group was about 50 people. Maria keeps the boarding organized at all stops and provides good information on the ride. Amalfi and Positano are both tourist havens. A bunch of overpriced small shops selling same stuff. I found Positano to be more scenic but those hills are rough in the heat. I wish I had a bit more time there. Those breath taking photos you see all over instagram, social media aren't going to be obtained unless you have the exact spot you need to go planned in advance. I'm glad I'm staying in Sorrento while in the area, it's a bigger town that has more nontourist to give a better impression of the Itilian life.

Beautiful day visiting Amalfi coast by boat

Another great trip booked through Viator. Everything ran to time and trip and tour guides with HP Travel were very friendly, helpful and full of lots of knowledgeable information. Boat trip is around 1.5hrs from port to Amalfi and you have approximately 3-3,5hrs in Amalfi unless you are visiting Ravello. Amalfi is beautiful with plenty of cafes, restaurants,shops and the amazing church. As it was in July it was very hot and busy. We boarded boat on time to Postiano which is approximately 20-30 minutes from Amalfi which is a beautiful little Italian seaside resort where you can enjoy the beach, shops, cafes and restaurants. We had an hee before we set of at 4.15pm back to our port by Sorrento. I’d definitely recommend this trip if you don’t mind boat trips.

Boat trip to Amalfi and Positano

Firstly, the bus to pick us up was late. Then the bus took about 45 minutes to pick up other people. Eventually we boarded the boat. Boat trip was enjoyable. Our tour leader was a very sweet girl but was not informative and when she spoke to us, we could not understand her and her instructions to the group were inadequate. We could not hear her talking on the boat at all. We feel that the time that we had to spend in Almalfi was far too long, an opinion also shared by the other members in the group we spoke to.

So so Trip

The tour was decent but a lot of hidden details not disclosed in selling notes. Firstly they state you get picked up at your hotel however once you book it, you are contact by the tour company HP who inform you that you have to make your way to the Ascot Hotel which was over 1 kilometre away from where we were staying, my mobility is not great so we had to get a taxi at a cost of €18. You are then taken by coach to Piano Di Sorrento and dropped off where you meet the tour guide. It is then a 5 minute walk to a lift which takes you down to sea level and then a 5 minute walk to exchange your voucher for boat tickets. You then have to hang around for 45 minutes before walking another 5 minutes to meet the boat. When the boat arrived it was already more than half full and therefore all the good seats were taken so we had to sit inside with backs against the window. It takes around 85 minutes to reach Amalfi. We had 3 hours 20 minutes in Amalfi which is too long. The ferry port is like a cattle market and we eventually got on the boat to Positano and by the time we got to Positano we only had 50 minutes of free time as we had to be back at the ferry port for 16:20. Again the ferry port is like a cattle market and we eventually start to sail and then stop. Apparently there were people left behind including one of the tour guides so we had to wait for around 15 minutes to get back into the port to pick them up. We never got back to Piano Di Sorrento until after 18:00 and had to walk about 15 minutes back to get picked back up by the bus. Once on the bus I asked the driver if he could drop me off at my hotel instead of the Ascot Hotel (we were the only ones that got on at this stop) and the driver said if I gave him €55 he would do it. I declined and the galling thing is that it would have been quicker for him to do this as our hotel was before the Ascot hotel and after he dropped us off he headed back in the direction of our hotel. It cost us another €18 to get home by taxi.

Amazing Amalfi

Tour was well organised. Good communication beforehand. The guide, Jessica, was fantastic. Boat was fine - maybe room for about 60 passengers. First stop was Amalfi. I also did the optional bus journey up to Ravello which was well worth it. 1 hour in Positano on way back - I think maybe this could do with being longer. Would recommend.

Pros: Our tour guide was lovely! She gave recommendations about what to do at each stop and highlighted key places during our ride. Ravello was beautiful (but it was 30-45 minutes of driving each way). Having transportation to and from the port was also great! Cons: The sea that day was VERY rough, and not enjoyable at all. We were unable to sit on parts of the boat because it was not safe. Many passengers were getting sick. The sea was so rough that the ship was unable to dock at Positano, which we did not know until we got there. I understand that this was not the direct fault of the operator, but if the sea was too rough to sit in the front of the boat or dock at one of the ports, they probably should have given notice or canceled the tour. When asked, we were able to get a very small refund - but overall, not worth the time or money for the trip.
