Outstanding Food Tour

Our guide was very knowledgeable about Papeete, and offered us a variety of food in several restaurants and the market. The food was plentiful and tasty.

Had a great time. Started with breakfast with the locals. Coffee with coconut milk and beignets. Then a taste of the local fish marinated in coconut milk and taro and plantains. On to many other places and dishes including the market. We had a fresh juice slushy and mangos with plum powder. Go hungry. Our guide Kaily had lots of information about Tahiti.

We arrived in Papettee and headed off to meet our tour guide. He was fantastic, very knowledgeable, accommodating and knowledgeable. We had a great morning with him and enjoyed it very much. The food was outstanding.

Highly recommend! Our guide Kalei was great! Very friendly and knowledgeable. The tour allowed us to try foods we never would have, which were all phenomenal. Even got a great tour of the city. Was a very enjoyable way to learn Papeete.
Perfect for new visitors

It was insightful to learn not only food culture of French Polynesia, but also some local history and seeing some key sights in the city along the way. Going to a shop that has served people for over 100 years and owned by the same family was very much a treat. Our guide was polite, knowledgeable and clearly liked by proprietors we visited. For us the 3 hours was a perfect fit for our expectations.
Great local tour with some great tastes

The tour started with coffee and local poke style raw fish in coconut milk along with taro and other local treats. Then off to Lucky Luke where we got to try the Beignet De Poisson, which for an Australian, was like a potato scallop/cake/fritter but made with fish. This was definitely a must try. We then toured the market and spent some time checking out the various cuisines that have become part of the Tahitian culture. We also tried the mango with the red powder which really doesn't like to come off, so bring wipes and don't wear white! The burger from Vini Vini was a highlight, tastes of all the local cuisines rolled into one delicious burger. The quantity of food was just enough to get a taste. It would have been better if some of the food was already cut into portions, so our host didn't have to tear it with fingers, but aside from that everything was excellent.

A must do to get acquainted with Tahiti’s unique Polynesian, French and Chinese fusion cuisine. A really delicious educational experience complemented by a walking tour of Papeete’s history and highlights.

Orama showed us multiple local places that we would never have found on our own. Her background explaining the culture and people of the area was invaluable. It was a walking tour. Saw so much of the market, city and history of Papeete while experiencing many wonderful dishes. The time and steps were well worth it!

What a great tour! Many, many stops for tastings of local cuisine, street food and snacks, never to have been discovered otherwise. Nothing too crazy, all delicious with just the right amount of cultural background at each stop. Great way to see many of the sights downtown. Our guide , Orama, was exceptional with a real passion for everything her amazing city has to offer. The grand finale was an ice cold beer or two. Bravo!
