Great day outside Taiwan

We had a great experience, discovering the seaside area around Taipei. We made a trip first to the Golden Waterfall and then to Jiufen and Pingxi, living for 9 hours the real Taiwan. Definitely something to be repeated!

Excellent tour with an excellent tour guide

Chia Jung did an excellent job touring us. He has warm personality, loves his job and most of all speaks English very well. He even has the accent of an American English speaker. He is a good conversationalist. He took care of us until the last minute of our tour; and took us lots of pictures too. We will for sure recommend this tour to our friends back home with special mention of Chia Jung as a tour guide. Excellent tour. Perfect 5 stars🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩 rate.

A terrific time touring Taiwan's beautiful countryside with Tony

We had such a fun and informative day. Tony was wonderful, delivering above and beyond our anticipated itinerary. He put so much energy and thought into finding secret spots to maximise our experience and to create special memories for us. He is such a good human who clearly loves what he does and thrives upon seeing his guests enjoy themselves as well. We are so grateful for the time we spent with him. He opened our eyes to parts of Taiwan we didn't know existed and taught us about the flavours, culture and history with passion and good humour. We'll remember our time with him with huge smiles for years to come.

The tour is a great way to explore many areas of northeast Taiwan in a single day! Our guide for the day provided us a wonderful balance between touring us around and allowing us time to explore ourselves. My only wish was that we would have had some more time to explore Jiufen!

Driver versus an actual Guide

Our guide didn’t really do much talking, just mostly took us from spot to spot instead of actually being a guide and sharing more details, historical backgrounds/significance. Also timings were off from the tour description as we spent very little time in Shifen as an example. Places were good to see, just needed to have more engagement .

Beautiful Jiufen and surroundings tour

Highly recommend this day trip from Taipei with Justaiwan. Very smooth communication with the tour operator and the driver before and during the trip. Our driver, Chia Jung, spoke good English ( and Japanese) and was very experienced with the area, taking different walking routes and timing perfectly to avoid the crowds. Very much enjoyed our conversation with him about tea, history and politics. I now need to try Pinglin tea :)

Great tour of the countryside

Tony was an amazing tour guide! He is extremely knowledgeable about the history of Taipei and he even took us to a memorial for WWII POWs. I would highly recommend this tour with Tony as a guide to all my family and friends.

We booked our tour for Aug 05 and our tour guide ( I'm sorry I'm very bad with names but I think his name is Ben ) was very knowledgeable and explain to us in details the story behind each place we have visited. He even shared with us his favorite childhood drink and bought a bottle for us to try. Thank you for a wonderful experience and will definitely book again.

Hot Summer Day Tour Of The Northern Part of Taiwan

Jiufen was the highlight of the trip. Best time to see Jiufen during the day was before noon as the tour groups started to fill the small streets. My guide (shoutout to James!), was very accommodating and was kind enough to take photos as well. For lunch, he took me to a local spot walking distance from Pingxi (so good and inexpensive). James was very knowledgeable as well as he knew the history on the places that we went to and able to answer all my questions. In addition, as I cannot read Chinese characters, he was able to assist me in purchasing souvenirs for my siblings. Overall, highly recommend having James as your guide and book this tour.

Nice Tour

James was an excellent driver and spoke good English. It took him awhile to warm up as he didn’t say much at first but was very interactive later. He was really big on taking lots of photos-seemed liked we were in a photo shoot tour at times. Some folks may not want to do that., however. Really enjoyed the highlights of the tour, especially memorable was the lantern release. Took us to an out of the way place for lunch with great simple food. All in all a great day and I would highly recommend James and this tour.

Leo was an excellent guide - enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and thoughtful. The schedule for the day was packed, and included some sightseeing, walking a couple of "old streets" (beautiful tourist strips in picturesque villages) and a hike. The day we went was cold and rainy, and Leo adjusted our itinerary to skip the hike and add more indoor activities. It was a great day!

We were a group of four from Hong Kong who already had some understanding of Chinese Culture. We had a private tour with the Driver also being the tour Guide. The tour itself is well worth it, reasonably priced, a full day out in an air conditioned car and the places we visited were all very different and very interesting. We enjoyed walking through the town markets and if you are a souvenir shopper or would like to sample the local cooking this is definitely the trip for you. We didn't need lunch! Our guide grew up in the Juifen area and was very knowledgeable if a little well rehearsed. We did not like our guide also being the driver, whilst he obviously knew his stuff we could not converse with him while in the car as he needed to concentrate. It would have helped if he spoke to us generally of the history etc of the villages we were in before getting out of the car, being a group of ladies we tended to miss some interesting information as some of us were chatting or shopping. Overall worth the trip and would recommend but take care talking to your driver when on the driving, they are small winding roads.
