Vandring på en vulkan

Wayan, jero och kadek var ett fantastiskt team. De svarade på alla mina frågor innan så jag var förberedd för vandringen. Kadek var en fantastisk guide, vi hade inga problem att ta oss upp eller ner för berget och han tog fenomenala bilder!

Amazing Experience

I rate this experience 10/10. The tour company communicated well and was very organized. My driver Vixo was on time, his vehicle and clean and comfortable and he was very polite and friendly. I was a solo traveler which can sometimes be a bit alienating when there are large groups but this wasn’t the case at all. I was assigned the guide Putu who took care of me all the way. He literally held my hands (with permission of course) at the most difficult parts and made sure I was ok. The views from up top were absolutely incredible and totally worth it. I will advise a couple things to ensure you have the best experience: 1. check the weather forecast and book on a day where it is not expected to rain/overcast so you will have unobstructed views of the sunrise. 2. Bring a jacket bc it can get cold at the top (jackets are available for rent but bring your own if you have) 3. Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate. I survived by buying ion replacement energy drinks from the ladies along the way that sells snacks and other items 4. This was not an easy trek! I consider myself relatively active but the humidity, steep incline, altitude and overall quick pace was very physically demanding (I contemplated calling for the motorbike escort twice). The descent is very hard on your knees and ankles so if you have joint issues consider booking the option with the jeep or motorcycle to cut the trekking distance.

Awesome experience and our tour guide Putu helped assist us getting up the mountain on time for sunrise. He carried my backpack and always checked if we needed a break and if the pace was ok. He was helpful with taking many photos and very patient. Would recommend this tour but it’s not an easy climb.

keep asking you to buy drinks

Super Nice driver but horrible people kept asking you to buy drinks However. when vou hike up to the mountains at 3am Suddenly a guy came in between and say hi. I thought it was from the company but he was not. This guy who carried the drinks upstairs and kept telling us to help him to buy water and he had 5 kids that he had to support his family. Already told him 3 times to stop talking, he still asked could you help him to buy some drinks. He went away at the end after I really yelled at him. The lady who hiked with us should have know that all the way at the beginning. However, there was another lady joined our hike but I don't know what she was selling. Then she started askina you "what's your name" without introducing herself. Honestly. it ruined all my mood before I see the amazing feel. We started driving from Ubud at 2:15. Then you start hiking around 3:45am... then vou have to sit on a place for more than one hour but you couldn't go up to the top as there were so many different companies. If you choose other company, you can rest on the top and wait for the sunrise. . This one you cannot

Cool but difficult

Description is misleading, I had proper trekking shoes but found it difficult to both ascend and descend and hurt my ankle (!), sand was moving, rocks were slippery. Definitely not recommended for beginners. There should be more information about this hike in the description. They don’t tell you it is difficult so they can charge you 350k rupiah for motorbike help on the toughest part. As for the hot springs - they are nice, but the showers and lockers are in chaos and honestly a tad disgusting. On the other hand, the guide was very nice and communicative, we even shared a smoke on the top :) driver was also good - punctual and fast to reply on WhatsAspp. View from the top was beautiful, but had I known how the hike looks like, I would settle for online pictures and not want to experience it myself.

We’ve had the best time hiking around the volcano. Guide was super friendly and filled us with all the information about the place. We would highly recommend those guys - they’ll make your experience remarkable!

Really amazing trip, the hike is somewhat challenging in parts and it is a bit slippy coming back down but there was plenty of time to arrive by sunrise and the views were spectacular! Wayan was a great guide 👍

Awesome Private tour

From Pick up to drop off, this experience was worth the price. Our driver Putu was very well versed and knowledgable giving us the full load out of Balinese culture and even went so far as to take us on a bonus ride to the Luwak coffee farm. Our Mountain tour guide Wayan was also amazing - informative and patient. Was always concerned for our safety while making sure we were still having a great time 🔥🔥 If you're like me, and enjoy taking your time trekking without the pressure of randoms within a big group waiting on you, then I would highly recommend this one 🫰🏾

Great tour. Sunrise is beautiful. Breakfast includes two hard boiled eggs, banana sandwich, fruit, granola bar and tea. One bottle of mineral water included. Hot springs is nice. Driver was great. Thank you

We absolutely loved hiking up Mount Batur. We had a lovely driver Vixo and tour guide Kuti. It was a great experience. Highly recommend doing. I would probably skip the hot spring baths as it got busy very quick.

Hard work but a huge reward at the top

It's a difficult climb but the views are worth it. The guides are fantastic. Very helpful and thoughtful. The sunrise was stunning. Plenty of food provided and snacks to purchase if needed. The hot springs after the trek were very welcome. Highly recommend.

I have done the Mount Batur sunrise hike before with a different company. That experience was excellent. This one, not so much. They picked us up from Canggu at 1:45am and we drove 2 hours to the base of the mountain. When we arrived, we were given bottled water, a flashlight, and a walking stick. A sweatshirt was also offered, but turns out it was a rental and they wanted cash. When we started the hike, our guide flew ahead of us giving little instruction or warning about the steepness or uneven terrain. He barely spoke a word on the ascent and instead talked on the phone for the first half of the hike. He didn’t give us updates on what was coming, how far we had to go, but seemed focused on climbing up the mountain as fast as possible (which was obviously much faster than our pace). We simply took breaks when we needed them and he barely noticed. We ended up reaching the mountain peak over an hour before sunrise because of his brisk speed. We had no choice but to sit and wait for sunrise in the cold and rain, without a jacket as we didn’t have any cash to rent one. At the peak, locals tried to sell us food and bracelets which explained why he got us up there so quickly. Finally, at sunrise, the fog and clouds were too thick to see the sun come up. He did bring us to a part of the mountain with natural steam, which was warmer, but this was over an hour after sitting bundled together in the freezing cold. No way to control the weather of course, but overall the experience was a miss. Not worth waking up at 1:45am. Maybe try a different vendor!

Sitting under a shelter as a torrential downpour dashed our hopes of seeing the sunrise. You can’t control the weather! But the team took good care of me. Both my driver (Jero) and guide (Wayan) were excellent. When it started raining, my guide had a poncho for me (not everyone on the mountain got ponchos from their guides!). I would recommend-just know that seeing the sunrise is not guaranteed.

The walk up was super enjoyable, the sunrise was beautiful. We were lucky and had super clear views everywhere. The steam all around was great to see, and having the banana that was prepared in that steam was incredible. What a great breakfast with a great view. Also the tea and coffee testing that followed was a blast. Such a journey it was. Great thanks to the guide and driver. Everyone was so pleasant and professional.

Amazing experience with Mt. Batur sunrise. We had an excellent driver who took us to our trekking guide. The guide to climb the volcano was fantastic. He helped us with water, encouraged breaks to rest as needed and even carried our jackets and sweaters on the way down. He was really nice and friendly. On Mount Batur the sunrise was incredible. The volcano craters and fauna as well as hiking trail were amazing. Hike was not easy but not necessarily hard either. Supportive guide so helpful. After the trekking we checked out a coffee plantation and we went for the Bali swing instead of hot springs. Highly recommend this experience
