The tour guide was amazing and knowledgeable. They even give you a list of restaurants that they recommend and restaurants that you visited when you’re done. The your guide themselves is an amazing and helpful person who gave me and my wife so many helpful tips about Antigua. I would suggest starting out any trip to Antigua with this tour as it helps get the lay of the land and can answer questions you might have. 10/10

Our guide was not a native. She was from California and not even fluent in Spanish. The locations were great and some of the food was very nice, but some of it was just average.
Amazing tour and great food with a great host.

It was ok. The tour guide wasn’t very knowledgeable. Not too impressed. Maybe a different guide would’ve been better
Best Food Tour Ever!!!
ALBERT_O, Jun 2024
What an experience we had from start to finish, it far exceeded our expectations. Shamila was the best. She brought us a little harness for our water bottle and even had umbrellas for us. We went to so many amazing places, I lost count. We were educated about the food and the locations. We highly recommend you take this tour and don't plan on eating dinner. Be sure and ask for Shamila (spelling). She was the best.
You can do your own research

I got this food tour as a gift to my significant other. I think there are definitely pros and cons.
The pros are that you are shown 7 good spots in Antigua that have great eats/locations.
The cons is the price. With a little online research you can definitely discover these places yourself. A lot of them if not all of them that we went to were all restaurants by expats in the community (sometimes it was a local).
I did feel taken by the end of the tour in terms of the money I spent vs my return. Our tour guide was sweet and knowledgeable. however for us the price is not worth it.
All the hidden gems

We had a great tour with Djhamila! She not only took us to great spots for food, she also knew all the history of each place. Everything we had was delicious and she was able to answer so many questions and provide great recommendations to many other things we might want to do or try in the city. Would recommend to do this food tour, and if possible do it early in your stay so you can go back to all these wonderful locations!
Wonderful time and great guide!

Wonderful time and great guide! I went with my family and we had a great time exploring the city and eating some delicious food.
100% worth it

100% recommend. The price might seem high for a food tour but it’s worth it. Antigua is a town of hidden gems so it’s a massive help to have a local show you the spots. I spent more money on trying bad restaurants so I consider this tour an investment. Kwame, the guide, is fantastic and his passion for Antigua and the food really shines.
Great experience but not worth the price

The guide Djamila was great and the food locations were incredibly tasty. What I cannot seem to understand is why it was so expensive. The portions were tiny and the actual prices of the foods averaged approximately 2-5 dollars max (we went back to a few of the locations and saw the menu). I enjoyed the experience but this was not worth 115 USD per person.
Insider’s tour to the best food in Antigua!

Kwame was a great guide - friendly, knowledgable, spoke both English and Spanish really well and he made sure the tour ran super smoothly. He took us to hidden rooftops, amazing courtyard spots and showcased different foods/drinks from different cultures. Everything was delicious! I’d really recommend doing the tour early in your stay - we ended up going back to most of the places he showed us during the rest of the week!
Amazing food tour!

Kwame is a wonderful tour guide and had an amazingly curated set of restaurants! I could not possibly recommended this tour enough!! I especially loved the fried plantain dish, yum.
Great for all ages

So many scrumptious bites and sips, from rooftop bars to hole in the wall gems, the food tour was a great way to experience Antigua
Incredible food tour given by a great local guide!

This was a great way to explore the beautiful town of Antigua and some of the delicious food created there. The host of this tour is knowledgeable and friendly - the most memorable aspect of the day (other than the amazing food!) was the wonderful people I met during the course of the tour.
Do yourselves a favor and book this early in your trip!

Hands down the best activity we could have booked for ourselves. Jamila goes above and beyond when it comes to curating an amazing and delicious experience. We booked our tour during the first part of our trip which was great because it gave us a chance to check out other recommendations beyond the day's tour. An absolute must if you're a foodie and love supporting local businesses. Jamila is wonderful!
Unsere Foodie Tour...
Nadine_W, Feb 2024
