Horrible!

This was the worst. A hot mess. Picked us up in a beat up, dirty, filthy little van with no a.c. (It is sweltering humid) After a 30 minute drive, they took us to a ramshackle building in a shabby area of town where we had to wait another half hour for other “guests” not affiliated with our excursion. Then another 10 minute drive to the beach. Then my wife and the others ventured out to snorkel. Because the conditions were so rough, my wife had to turn back and tried to find me. The guide just left her behind. Then a drive back to the shack where we were left in this dirty van for at least 15 minutes with no a.c. Then another 40 minute drive back to town. This was deplorable and not even close to Viator's standards. We have videos to support our terrible experience. I am asking for a total refund on this excursion.

Junior was a great guide. He informed us which routes we were taking and checked on all members of group periodically. The experience was amazing. As a non-swimmer, I felt completely comfortable in the water and had a great time.

Extremely good tour, much nicer and cheaper than booking inside the ship, totally recommend. We had the tour for ourselves and the guide, personalized experience, really nice people. Would repeat if traveling again to Aruba.

Great time snorkeling

Juan and his crew were very nice. Trip was good . My partner and I were the only ones in the excursion. Made it nice not sure the name of the guide that led us out to the reef but he was very caring and made sure we were ok. We saw a lot of fish in the deep part and unfortunately the ship wreck was difficult to see due to murky. But that is Nature no one’s fault. We got water and a cookie when we left and a shower to rinse off the salt water .. Took a minute to find the place so take extra time and realize dive center is at someone’s residence .

Reef snorkel that was worth the money.

No problem with hotel pick up and ride to dive shop in a neighborhood. We were the only two on the trip. Good quality mask, snorkel, fins, and life jackets. Two bock ride from dive shop to sandy walk-in spot with beautiful mangroves. Our guide who was from Aruba was friendly and knowledgeable. He secured our valuables in the van. My wife is not a strong swimmer so he let her hold on to life preserver which he towed out against a week current past the reef. The fish were sparse but colorful. The waves were a little choppy but it’s always windy on Aruba. Our guide supplied cold water and cookies which was a nice touch. Overall it was worth the money.

I have traveled and done a lot of things in my life but that was hands down one of the coolest things I have done. Junior was our instructor and he was very professional, friendly and knowledgeable. In addition, to a warm personality he is a skilled underwater expert, happy to help and has great jokes. Worth every dollar! Don’t wait - book now!

Junior our tour guide was amazing! Very professional and knowledgeable. I would say this is more at an experienced snorkeler excursion as the ocean was quite rough and we didn’t realize we were going out so far. As soon as my husband couldn’t stand any longer he decided to go back to shore. I swam him back so the other couple and the guide could continue. Again, the tour guide and his company were amazing… this one just wasn’t for us.

I chose this particular excursion as it appeared to be close to shore and not the all-you-can drink options offered elsewhere. I thought it would be a better intro to my water-shy husband. We received proper fitting and a safety rundown with life jackets. We left from shore amongst the mangroves. We had to swim out past the current, which was a bit more challenging than I thought we were in for. However, one past the current, it was much easier to manage. Additionally, having the life jackets was amazing so that you could take breaks when needed. The other couple on the tour indicated other snorkeling places on the island have not ever offered life jackets. For added security, 2 tour guides went with us, never left our side, and offered the use of a flotation ring if our legs were ever tired - we could hang in and they’d pull us. The views of the coral and wildlife were breathtaking and we were told better than other spots on the island. Would highly recommend. My water-shy husband rated it the best excursion we took

I was lucky in some respects as I was the only person signed up that day I had two tour guides. They were very skilled, kind and careful where my safety was concerned. Unfortunately, it was very windy that day and in retrospect, I should have asked to re schedule. It was so windy that day and the sea was wild. I had to work very hard just to keep on course. I didn't have enough power in my legs alone sometimes.. and I had to use my arms to keep me going forward and avoid hitting the reef. I lasted an hour of what was supposed to be a 2 1/5 hour experience. I hated to give up early but I had to respect my limits. It was impossible to just float and just enjoy the reef because the currents were so strong. I'd never used the floatation device before and I was grateful to have it. I didn't have it adjusted properly so I had to use one hand to keep pulling it away from my neck. Next time, I'll make sure the straps are tighter before I get into the water. Despite all of this, the reef was very beautiful. I certainly wouldn't have seen anything like this on my own.

By far, this was one of our favorite experiences throughout our time in Aruba. Though none of us had ever snorkeled and would not be considered strong swimmers, Juan was extremely patient with us making sure that we were okay every couple of feet, pointing out the different fish and coral species, some of which are not seen that often by snorkelers. We could not have been happier with our experience so thank you Juan!

Had a great experience snorkelling at Mangel Halto. Our instructor Juan was great. We saw a beautiful coral reef with lots of nice fishes. The snorkel was included with both pickup and drop of where you stay, instructions and equipment for snorkelling. We really enjoyed it. Thanks for a great time!
