Pick ups from inner city Auckland hotels are between 12 - 12.25pm. You MUST contact us to arrange a specific pick up time for your location as the tour departs the city at 12.30pm. The above list does not include all pick up hotel locations - Pick up is included from most inner city Auckland accommodation - please advise where you are staying and we can give you a pick up time or meeting location. Return point: Returns to original departure point at 5:30pm

After pickup from your centrally located hotel, depart Auckland on the drive west to the Arataki Centre—the gateway to the breathtaking Waitakere Ranges. Snap photos of traditional Maori carvings that stand sentinel as you soak up breathtaking views, from the Tasman Sea to the Pacific Ocean. Note: a brief stop is made at a local bakery for those who have not had lunch.

Learn about the region’s history from your guide during your visit to Auckland's largest regional park, followed by a drive to the North Island’s wild coastline. Here, walk along the shores of Piha Beach and marvel at the black sand beneath your feet.

Continue to experience the awe-inspiring power of New Zealand’s nature with a short trip to a lush rain forest setting. Ayla was a wonderful guide. Her knowledge of the ecology of NZ, both native and invasive was amazing. The tea and cookies at the top of Piha was a plus, as was the stop at the bakery for snacks. Would def recommend

REally nice adventure

Pick up at our hotel was quick and on time. Ayla and Meredith were very knowledgable and friendly to the guests. Rainforest was really nice, beach was really nice, thankful they had rain jackets as a rain blew in from no where. Tea and biscuits were tasty. Nice informative trip!!

We spent a lovely afternoon with our tour guides on a short walk in the rainforest and at Piha Beach. On the way, we learnt a lot about the history of the place and other interesting facts. I highly recommend doing this if you cannot attend the whole-day tour!

We booked this trip when on a short visit to Auckland. Our guide, Alex, was excellent. He was very knowledgeable about the plant and animal species in the rainforest and the trip out to Piha Beach was the icing on the cake. Alex even supplied tea, coffee, cookies and manuka honey at the beach. Sometimes it is the knowledge and pleasantness of the guide that makes the experience and in this case it was true. Alex kept up a running commentary on our trip which we appreciated. He also picked us up at our hotel and dropped us at a different, more convenient spot at the end. Great trip and a great way to find out more about the geography of Auckland and surrounds. Highly recommended.

Nice, but a bit too quick soghtseeing

A bit overloaded tour that would be better with 2 hours more. It felt for me that we were in a kind of hurry. It would hbw been better if we had more time to appreciate the things we saw. Apart from that: The tourguide did an excellent job. Friendly, kind and always open for questions.
