Could have been better

This tour was a bit disappointing. The itinerary was very good. The issues were that the guide's english was hard to understand. She spoke rapidly with a heavy French accent. The sound system was also problematic. There was one speaker so there was always a row of participants not able to hear the guide. She was an excellent driver. We went on a Wednesday so we spent time at the market day at Uzes. That was definitely a highlight.

This compact 5-hour trip covered three separate locations, all being fascinating and different from each other. Nicely planned tour but a bit rushed

The trip was well planned and Anne really knew her history. She made the tour especially enjoyable. There was time in Nimes to walk around the historical places we visited; she provided a lengthy tour through Uzes - I think it would have been helpful to have picked up sandwiches to bring with us to Ponte de Gard. We could have used a little extra time at Ponte de Gard to eat lunch and tour the bridge. The cafe at the bridge, where we bought lunch, was out of most sandwiches when we arrived. And there was ample opportunity to purchase nice sandwiches in Uzes since we were a small group. Nonetheless, we enjoyed the tour and would recommend it.

A big disappointment

The tour got off to a bad start when the mini van we were travelling in suffered a puncture. No fault of the guide but there seemed no immediate and coherent back up plan and the day was only saved by Mike who was able to change the wheel. The biggest disappointment was the visit to Nimes. I am unsure if the time there was curtailed because of the puncture and the tour running late but little or no information was provided by the guide. She seemed more interested in looking at a modern statue outside the ampitheatre than viewing the fantastic remains. Her dialogue in the minivan was hard to hear as she kept turning to her front seat passengers and therefore losing the use of her microphone. The only saving grace was the tour of Ulez which WAS informative. We could have planned our own visit to Pont du Gard given the lack of any input by the guide. If you wish to see something of Nimes and explore its history you should give this tour a big miss.

I’m sorry you’re disappointed by your tour. Despite the delay in changing the flat tyre (Thanks Mike...), the tour was extended to make up for that. The stops at Nimes are always the same, a stop of 25 to 30 minutes at the fountain gardens and photo stops at the Roman temple and the amphitheatre. I provide a lot of info while in the van. Maybe the microphone was playing up? After the walking tour of Uzes, I give a ton of info on the history and the building of the Roman aqueduct. I also spend some time in front of the big map, giving you a recap and some more info. I’ve got a lot of great reviews for that tour so I’m really surprised by your comment.

Gordonia was so full of knowledge and very enthusiastic… the group was just big enough … the only disappointment was we ask to have a tour in French and we’re told that they did not have one even though that they confirmed that they did … so there we went…in English …. Bad communication at that level…

This was a very fun tour. Anna was wonderful and very knowledgeable of the area. It was a great way to see things in the area if you are short on time. It was pretty fast paced and we would have loved to spend more time in the towns. We knew this when booking the tour. Overall, we would absolutely recommend this tour

Guide was very knowledgeable and familiar With the sites we were visiting. I would have like for the tour to be longer instead of half day so you could spend more time in the 3 locations. Also would have been easier to meet up if we would have been given a parking location to meet.
