What To Expect

Head to the Banff Gondola any time during its normal hours of operation to begin your ride. Climb inside a comfortable, modern, 4-person gondola cabin for the trip to the top of Sulphur Mountain. As your cabin ascends high above this mountain paradise, admire bird’s eye views of Banff’s alpine scenery and meandering rivers, arriving at the summit of Sulphur Mountain.

While on top, feel free to explore the boardwalk leading to Sanson’s Peak, a national historic site, or just sit back, relax and enjoy the view. After your allotted time at the top, simply grab your assigned gondola back down to the base of the mountain.

Amazing views and absolutely love the Aussies. They’re so friendly I could chat with them all day. The actual gondola was good, I don’t like heights so this was a big deal for me. Going up I was scared but coming down I enjoyed the view. I would recommend

The view and every staff member we encountered. The smoked salmon I had for lunch at the Bistro/and the view from the picture window was incredible. The walk to the Lookout is a must! I loved every minute... probably the most beautiful Gondola ride I have ever taken and I have been everywhere! Dont miss this one!

The most amazing experience, we went early in the morning which I would recommend as it did get quite busy later in the day. Views were quite breathtaking - we have so many photos - We had lunch in the restaurant and managed to get a table next to the window, food was very tasty and waiting staff were very friendly. All in all the most fabulous day.

The views are like nothing you have ever experienced - pics don’t do it justice. Prior to riding the gondolas, I thought it seemed expensive. After experiencing the mind blowing views, it was worth ever cent!!! Make sure you walk all the way to the top - you won’t be disappointed!!!

The ride was wonderful, truly stunning views especially with the newly laid snow from the previous day. We ate at the SkyBistro which was fantastic! Highly recommended. Only downside was when we were trying to change our booking with the weather being bad on the initial day booked. We first contacted the Gondola company who told us we had to contact Viator instead. When getting on the phone with Viator they stated they couldn't change the booking and we had to speak to the Gondola company who once I got on the phone with again changed it within minutes which had me puzzled why it wasn't done when I first rang which would of saved me the hassle of ringing back and forth.

We love everything about the Banff Gondola. The views were amazing and the climb to the top with the different observation decks was an incredible experience. The staff was so nice and answered any questions we had. A must do if you are in Banff area.
