The Departure time of the tour is 7:30 am. The Pickup time from your hotel is between 6:30 am and 7:30 am - various depending on the location of your hotel. The exact Pickup time will be communicated to you with your booking confirmation. Remarks: Please be aware that the pick-up for this tour is included and covers all the hotel located in the following areas: (Silom Road, Thai Cultural Centre, Phaya Thai, Huai Khang, Bang Rak, Sathorn, Surawong Road, Rajdamri Road, Ram Buttri Chana Songkhram, Luangsuan Road, Khaosan Road) For hotel pick-ups outside of this area, an additional charge may be applied or a closer meeting point pick-up may be suggested to you by our Team upon reception of your booking.

What To Expect

After hotel pickup, your vehicle makes the journey north from Bangkok to Ayutthaya Historical Park. The old capital of Thailand (aka the Kingdom of Siam) from 1350 until 1767, Ayutthaya was largely destroyed by the Burmese and is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site full of intact temples, monasteries, palace ruins, and beheaded Buddhist statues.

On arrival, set out on foot with your knowledgeable guide who leads you to notable Ayutthaya temples and the ancient Royal Palace ruins.

Marvel at the Buddha's head resting in the tree roots overtaking Wat Mahathat and visit the well-preserved summer palace of King Rama IV with its mixture of Thai, Chinese, and Gothic architecture. All admission fees are included in the price of the tour.

Complete your full-day excursion with a riverboat lunch cruise on the Chao Phraya River back to Bangkok. Tuck into a delicious buffet lunch and enjoy views of temples lining the riverbank, such as Wat Arun, before your tour ends with drop-off at your hotel.

Long pants which go down to the ankle, not tight and not torn - Tops with sleeves and must not be see-through should be worn.   • For a full refund, you must cancel at least 24 hours before the experience’s start time.
  • If you cancel less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded.
  • Any changes made less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time will not be accepted.
  • Cut-off times are based on the experience’s local time.
  • This experience requires good weather. If it’s canceled due to poor weather, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund.

Very enjoyable and worthwhile

We stayed in Bangkok for just three nights and spent most of one day on this trip and cruise. It was certainly worthwhile and gave us a degree of insight into the country. The guide (First) was entertaining and helpful. The food on the cruise was very good and plentiful. The trip along the river revealed sights which would not otherwise have been accessible. The pick up from our hotel went without a hitch and the return likewise. Well worth the money.

Temples interesting and guide knowledgeable . After Angkor Wat they were less impressive than if we had seen them prior to Cambodia . River cruise was good .We were well looked after and catering was good .

History and boats! How can you go wrong!

This was a great excursion for those who like history and culture. Our guide, “Donna” was extremely knowledgeable and informative. She answered questions well and kept the group moving despite the heat. The river cruise back to Bangkok included a good lunch buffet with a mix of both Thai and western fare.

What an amazing trip. Our guide, First, was very knowledgeable, funny, engaging and took the time to answer all our questions. He explained the history behind the Wats in Ayutthaya and took us to the best vantage points before we had some free time. The cruise was lovely and the buffet had lots of options to cater for everyone.

I rarely write reviews but always read them so I feel like I should contribute because this was a fantastic experience. The whole tour was well organized right from the start. Pick up from the hotel was included and right on time. Like others have mentioned, we were lucky enough to have Donna as our guide. She was fantastic - Professional, knowledgeable and generous. The boat ride was a great surprise - A great way to see much of the area surrounding the city. And like others have also mentioned, the food was great! Best side trip we have taken!

Interesting visiting the old city. Good to see, but l enjoyed the river trip return. Probably because it gave time to relax, and enjoy the sights on the river. What’s even better they provide lunch to a very high standard.

Great tour! The boat ride back was also awesome! Thank you for an amazing day! I've been told that it would be a long day from Bangkok, but it's really not that bad. The ruins are worth it, and the day goes by fastly. I totally recommend it.

Incredible experience. First was the perfect guide. The Bus drivers are very professional and know how to maneuver a big bus. Very Safe and extremely fun Tour. The Temple ruins are stunning. The Thai buffet during the river cruise was worth the tour price alone. What a memorable day. Highly recommend.

A walk around two of the main sites was enough to give a good idea of the former Thailand capital. The buffet meal on the boat was better than expected and the slow cruise back to Bangkok provided a real feel for life beside the river.

Touring Ayutthaya was amazing! We were picked up and dropped off at our hotel. I highly recommend purchasing that option! The lunch buffet and cruise was very relaxing, and the sights along the Chao Phraya River were nice!
