What To Expect

Meet and greet the tour guide and group near in Alexanderplatz, a large public square and transport hub in the center of Berlin. After getting fitted for a Beach Cruiser bike and helmet, there is a brief introduction to Berlin before beginning the ride around and the capital city and cultural center of Germany.

Because there is so much to see in Berlin, this tour takes advantage of the many bike paths the city offers. More than 95 percent of the tour takes place on bike paths and through parks. Also, Berlin is quite flat and easy to traverse by bicycle. With frequent stops to learn about the sites and to take pictures, it all makes for a most enjoyable way to explore this fascinating place.

See the Berlin Wall Memorial and one of the last remaining sections of the wall itself. Stand above Adolf Hitler's bunker and recount the final days of the Third Reich. Check out Checkpoint Charlie, the best-known crossing point between East and West Berlin during the Cold War.

Pedal to the famous Brandenburg Gate, one of Berlin’s most important monuments. It was a symbol of division between Berlin and Germany during the Cold War, but it is now a national symbol of peace and unity. And visit the Reichstag Building, the meeting place of the German Parliament.

Also, ride along the Spree, a river that runs through the city, and Tiergarten Park, Berlin’s largest and most popular inner-city park. Then stop at a beer garden for lunch (own expense) to experience Berlin as the locals do (full-day tour only).

Other stops on the tour include Museum Island, with its collection of five world-renowned museums; Potsdamer Platz, a public square and traffic intersection in the center of Berlin; Gendarmenmarkt’s German and French cathedrals and much more. 

Throughout the tour, the guide provides ample information about Berlin’s past and present—and maybe even offers some insight into where the city is headed in the future. It’s a great introduction to the city of Berlin and all that it offers its visitors and residents alike.

The tour ends back at Alexanderplatz.

We went on the six hour bike tour on a Sunday and it was just perfect. We were so lucky to have Thor as our guide. He is very enjoyable and very informative. Glad we opted for the six hour tour rather than the three hour tour. Great way to see all of the highlights of Berlin.
Best way to see Berlin

We loved this tour. Carlo was so knowledgeable about the political history around each stopping point and brought it to life. Lovely lunch stop. We covered around 9 miles but at a pace manageable for all including kids, and on safe roads and cycle paths. Highly recommend.

Hiller Bunker- history- very moving. WWII ended there. Thor was excellent- provided a lot of history. The Brandenberg Gate was also a impressive.

Our guide (Carlo) was fantastic. He is very thorough and a great teacher. He was able to make thile tour very fascinating and also fun. He is very knowledgeable can go as deep as you want if you like history and want to know more as the tour progresses.

I can’t even begin to describe how amazing this tour is and it’s 100% because we had Franca as our guide! She is so passionate about this history of Berlin she truly memorizes you with the knowledge and backstory of the city. She provides wonderful photos to show further detail of the history and her knowledge with dates of each iconic location it’s absolutely incredible. If only she could have been my history teacher back in my school days! I can not recommend this tour more. When I visit Berlin again in the future, I look forward to attending the tour once more!

We did a full day ride with Fat Tire Tours and it was an amazing experience! Our knowledgeable guide, Ceri, led us through the city's vibrant streets, sharing fascinating historical insights and hidden gems. Riding past and stopping at iconic landmarks like the Victory Column and the Berlin Wall was truly unforgettable. The lunch place was fun and Ceri brought our group together. What a fantastic tour. Nate was our guide and he was super knowledgeable and friendly. We took the 6 hour City Tour and it was the perfect amount of time. We got to see all of the highlights of Berlin and briefly learn about the history of the wall and Germany. We never biked for more than 5-10 minutes at a time which makes the tour very doable for most people. The bikes were in great shape and they were organized from check in and throughout the tour.

I didn’t know what to expect. The tour was fantastic. Carlo was amazing and knew his stuff very well. I am not a rider and the 6 hours went very fast! I was able to do it without any problem and truely enjoy every minutes of it after we really started . I felt secure ( I don’t normally bike so was a bit apprehensive). Highly recommend it and if in doubt book it early as the places goes really fast. I wanted to do another tour and places weee all gone so could not do so for the next 3 days. Hope you will have as much enjoyments in your bike tour then I had .
