What To Expect

Make your way to a central location in Cabo San Lucas, where you meet a guide for a visit to the local spice market and tortillería, and pick up some fresh corn dough for making tortillas by hand.

Continue to the chef’s home, then prepare a full lunch with a main dish, salsas, sides, and tortillas that you’ll eat hot from the grill. Learn about the culture and context of what you’re cooking, and get tips for reproducing the recipe in your home kitchen. When the meal is prepared, sit down to enjoy what you've cooked.

• Tuesday: Tamales with chicken, pork, or beef)
• Wednesday: Beef birria in adobo sauce
• Thursday: Baja-style seafood and paella
• Friday: Pork two ways: carnitas and pastor

If I could give this experience 100 stars, I would! This was the highlight of my entire trip. Carolina was absolutely amazing, made us feel like we were home, and was also very informative. The food was absolutely amazing and the best margarita I have ever had.

Wow what an awesome time Karina and her staff are so much fun! You can’t go wrong with this experience. You arrive at the restaurant meet the group and the fun begins. Off you go, learn to shop like the locals do. Visit a tortilla factory, fish market…, it goes on and on, then they invite you into their home, into their own home! Wow! You will learn to make the best Margaritas you’ve ever had and of course the cooking, oh my gosh, amazing! Come hungry!!! Book it now!!! I would definitely do this again. Karina does one with Salsa dancing too, I might come back tomorrow for that one😉👍

An absolutely amazing experience! This adventure with Issi surpassed any of our expectations. Our group ages ranged from 10 to 75 and everyone had a blast. It was easy to find our meetup location with parking nearby. We traveled to multiple locations to buy the food that we used in our culinary adventure which was exciting and a great experience as these markets differ greatly from what we are used to in the US. Our experience cooking the food was awesome. Everyone got to be involved, we learned about different ways of prepping food and cooking it and got to eat something amazing that we had a hand in making. I highly recommend this activity and would absolutely do it again.

What a great experience with Issy! Went around to different markets to get ingredients for our class, we made the best margaritas ive ever had with fresh limes, pico di gaio, freshly made guacamole, then a.26 ingredient Brown Mole, which was amazing, for dessert fresh made churns. Got to meet his beautiful wife and three sweet children. If you enjoy food this ones for you. So much food couldn't finish it all.

This was the best excursion we have taken. We went to a tortilla bakery, market to purchase fresh veggies and spices, meat market for fresh pork and dough for corn tortillas. We the were taken to the chefs lovely home to help prepare and then eat the meal. Delicious quac and salsa recipes. We saw a part of Cabo we would not have seen on our own. The entire family was so friendly. Best margaritas and will now only use fresh lime juice. Awesome experience.

What a fun, authentic, warm and delicious experience. Carolina is a talented chef and the cooking class was way more than I was expecting. I truly recommended for the food and for the fun. Being in an authentic family mexican home was my most memorable part. Do not miss it.

We went shopping for the ingredients and then prepped them to make margaritas, pico de gallo, guacamole and chicken mole. We went to the local market to buy all fresh produce and ingredients that we used for the cooking class. He taught us how to pick the produce. The chef was very kind and funny. And he knows what he’s talking about. The food was amazing, we made the best pico de gallo and guacamole we ever tasted. The tacos we made were outstanding as well. We would definitely recommend the class and we would definitely take another cooking lesson with Issy, the chef. He was on time and true to the description.

Issi was absolutely incredible. We had a small group so got to go to his home to cook. Local market shopping and learning, followed by margaritas and cooking made for the perfect day. We made salsa, guacamole, tortillas, tamales, and multiple sauces. This has been the most hands on, locally immersive experience we have had (including Paris). I would recommend this experience without any reservations.
