What To Expect

Amazing day!

We had such a great time! Nabil was an amazing guide and told us so much information. He was very kind and courteous to us. We had a long flight so we opted out of a few activities such as the camel riding. George was our driver and he was also amazing. Lunch was great and we visited a few shops before heading back to the hotel.

The tour guide (Noor) and driver were absolutely amazing and really helped us see all the iconic scenes as we are restricted with walking too much. The whole experience was great, really worth it and recommend it to everyone.

Our guide, Mohamed, took his time with the tour. He was great with our small kids & was knowledgeable about the historical sites. Our guide took us to tourisity sites. We weren't pressured to purchase and learned more of the culture. Lunch was good street food that seemed frequented by local youngsters. Great tour overall.

Nice and comfortable tour but not fully satisfied

The tour guide came with a nice car with a dedicated driver and drive was very comfortable. Both driver and guide were courteous and professional. However the guide rushed us through the tour points and tried to get it done as quickly as they can. For example, when we get to Sphinx, the guide just stopped by along the road instead of going nearby where most tourists go and said the view is better here. I just agreed with the guide at that time and didn't go nearby and now regret I didn't. The guide also discouraged us on us going inside of pyramids because nothing to see there. The tour ended up in finishing in 3 hours even though the guide sent us to two souvenirs shops that were not a part of the itinerary. The lunch was very disappointing as it was a cheap street food for takeout and we're asked to eat in the car. They said that it was because it's Ramadan and no restaurant was open, which was true, but I felt like I didn't get what I paid for.

We had a wonderful experience with our tour guide, Mary, and our driver, George. We were able to have the best of seeing the Giza pyramids, able to get up close and touch them, able to go inside Khafre’s pyramid. Also up close to the Sphinx. The camel ride was interesting, since we’ve never ridden a camel before. Lunch was delicious. We chose the traditional meal. Mary was very fun and informative. I highly recommend Go Discovery travel for the pyramid experience

Good guide and driver but issues with tour operator

The guide (Saeed) and driver are professional and friendly. We had a great time at Giza Pyramids and had delicious shawarma pita wrap for lunch. The major issue is with the tour operator (Letsexploreegypt.net), it has serious communication and integrity issues. The staff was rude and the operator tried to charge us for hotel pick up although our hotel is clearly included in hotel pick up list. (they insisted our hotel is too far for pick up). We had feedback to Viator as well. Also, it would be better if they could excluded unnecessary stops at the craft shops.

Keep Looking - Not Worth the Money

The pyramids are amazing. This tour was a massive disappointment though. It started even before the tour began. Less than 24 hours before the tour, after the cancellation period closed, the tour operator messaged me to tell me I owed them another $30 that I would have to pay on the spot because my hotel was too far. My hotel was in Cairo and the tour said pickup from all hotels in Cairo was included and only the airport is another 30 dollars. This fee was not listed on the Viator site, it was on the company’s website, which was not provided at the time of booking. Viator did nothing to help me resolve this, just saying that I couldn’t cancel because it was within the 24 hour cancellation period. (Never mind that the price of the tour was also not right on their site - they didn’t care about that). Then, after I booked the tour for noon, they wanted to pick me up at 10 which I had to resolve. Finally, my guide was not very knowledgeable and I didn’t learn much. Skip this tour - there are so many tours of the pyramids and this one is terrible. Choose another one and have a better experience than I did. I’m also disappointed that Viator did nothing to resolve the issue with the additional fee.

My wife and I had an absolutely amazing day with Muhammed! He communicated with us proactively the day before, giving us details on their arrival time at our hotel and vehicle, and the whole tour was very smooth. Muhammed was super nice and accommodating - we thoroughly enjoyed his guide and company. We also had amazing local food and visited essential oil and papyrus shops, without feeling pressured to buy anything. Overall A+ experience - would definitely recommend to anyone visiting the pyramids and more.

This was a lovely tour, with a great driver and our expert guide Hajer Ahmed! They were on time and in great spirits. As we made our way to the Hiza complex, Hajer gave us a run down of our day and then began explaining some of the sites we were passing while on the road and giving us some Egyptian history. Soon we made our way to the pyramids, a little bit congested early in the morning but our driver kept us entertained as Hajer went to pitcher the tickets. Once through security and inside the complex, we walked a short distance to get to the first pyramid and temple. We were able to take pictures touching the pyramids but don't climb too far up, tourism police will stop you! We then walked to meet our driver and headed to the camel area. We were able to see the snack pyramid that sits higher while waiting and take greatly great panoramic photos. Shortly our camels arrived and we were guide down a path and stooped at a great spot. Our camel handler took great photos for us with the pyramids in the background and then we continued back down the path. Wasn't quite 30 minutes but maybe 20 but still enjoyable. We then proceeded to the Sphix area. We were given more history and great photo opportunities. It seemed as if a school trip was there, so we were greeted warmly by a lot of children who wanted to take photos. Then we proceeded to a great restaurant for lunch. My husband and I both had the chicken entrees and it was the best food we had this far on our trip. Great trip, would highly recommend.

The tour guide messaged prior to pick up to confirm and was clear communication, the tour guide, Tony was amazing. His knowledge of the history was fantastic and any questions I had were answered. Didn’t have to wait in lines for anything. As a solo traveller he took photos for me everywhere we went.

Nothing so memorable about this tour. I had always wanted to see the pyramids, but when I saw them they looked just normal to me; I did not feel so amazed (below my expectation). But I still give this tour 4 stars because the tour guide and driver were punctual. Both were okay. They had to go through a bad traffic jam because that day was the first day of schools and other higher institutions.
