Consisting of two 4-mile-long (6-kilometer-long) cemeteries dating to Mamluk times (1200s to 1500s), Cairo’s City of the Dead is still in use today. Traditionally, all families kept a mausoleum; these days, some families use them to live in as well as for burials. There are also shops, cafés, and even a post office within the cemeteries.

Unusual and interesting sights of Cairo
The guide Hitham was great and showed us the unusual and interesting sights of Cairo. He was very helpful when my friend didn't feel so well on the trip and we made the most of the day!

Very good experience
Very nice and interesting tour ! I really recommend if you want to learn more on alternative areas of Cairo. Our guide Haithm was very nice and explained us a lot of things.

Amazing Cave Church
Our guide and driver were very helpful and polite. Driving through Garbage City to get to the Cave Church was eye opening. The Church itself was amazing. Interesting to learn about the Coptic religion from our guide. Driving through the City of the Dead was also interesting but you couldn’t see much. Tourists are not allowed to walk in there.

I enjoyed seeing the unusual cave church and going on the random zip wire there, aswell as learning more about the city of the dead.The hotel lunch was also relaxing.My tour guide was nice and let me go with flow.An enjoyable day
