    Excellent tour! Mike was so thorough and I learned so much more than I would have on my own. He picked me up at my hotel right on time. There were only 3 of us which was ideal. He gave us all kinds of information even before we got out of the city. In addition to historical information about Charleston and the plantation, he gave us additional travel tips and restaurant recommendations. He even dropped me off at my chosen lunch spot. I never felt rushed yet covered the entire plantation in addition to a few spots in Charleston. Highly recommend!!
    A fabulous educational tour of Historic Charleston & the Middleton Plantation

    From start to finish Mike provided us with a wealth of knowledge on Charleston history and in particular the historical district of Charleston & the Middleton Plantation. After he picked us up at our hotel, we drove through the area where the beautiful old homes are and he had so many stories regarding the history of the homes and the current state of the homes. At the Middleton Plantation, we toured the beautiful grounds with him and he had so many stories to tell related to the grounds. We never would have learned as much about the plantation had he toured it on our own. When we toured the home, we already had so much information about it that the docents merely supplemented what we already knew. Mike also provided us with lots of information as we toured the exhibits related to the trades in which the slaves were skilled. In the midst of all of this, Mike provided us with great information as other tours to take, restaurants to visit, etc. It was a Fabulous tour!!

    Amazing. Amazing. Amazing! Mike was an incredible guide. He was extremely kind and personable and his knowledge of Charleston and Middleton Plantation was second to none. There’s no way I would have enjoyed this experience as much without Mike’s guidance. I’m traveling on my own and he made me feel so comfortable and happy that I’d chosen this tour. There were 2 other people on the tour and we all enjoyed it immensely. Between the beauty of the Middleton Plantation and Mike’s guidance, it was a stellar experience all around. I’ll be back in Charleston again, I’m sure (such a great place that I’ve fallen in love with) and I’ll definitely be calling Mike again. If I could give more than 5 stars, I’d do it gladly!

    Mike is such an easy going guide with a wealth of knowledge about local history. He picked me up at the hotel and drove us to Middleton. Along the way he told us the local history. After we bought the entrance ticket, he guided us through the garden and took photos for us. Afterwards, the docent took over and guided us through the house. We did not feel rush at all. Mike drove us back to Charleston and dropped us off in the area with many restaurants with his recommendation for lunch. It was a perfect relaxing day.

    Mike was an excellent tour guide and has an extensive knowledge of both the plantation and the Charleston area. We enjoyed our morning with him and appreciated the transportation since we didn’t have a car for our stay. I would recommend this option for people staying in the French Quarter for a nice morning in a different setting.

    Mike was the perfect tour guide! He is very knowledgeable about the area and the history that goes with it. He was very well prepared and polite. He gave excellent suggestions for places to eat and things to see and do. He also gave recommendations for when to come back for different events. I hope to come back soon and I will definitely be checking in with him to do a walking tour and a Middleton tour again!
    Wasted time since could not go in house

    We drive there to be told we can’t go in the house at all. The guide did not know-he was very nice- so we stood around. I asked for a refund. Soooo disappointed that it was a total waste. Saw house off in distance and sheep

    Very, very disappointing review. When we arrived at the plantation we were told that the house was closed for repairs. I did not know this before hand.To make up for this I offered to pay the admission fee. The plantation has beautiful gardens and a wonderful stable yard. Traveler didn't want to see anything if she couldn't see the house. So I took her back and gave her and her friend a free walking history tour in an effort to make up for the problem. I wish she had mentioned the efforts I made to make up for this situation which was not of my doing..

    What a beautiful and fascinating place! We were torn between Middleton Place and Magnolia Plantation. After reading lots of reviews we decided on Middleton, and I’m glad we did! Mike, our tour guide, picked us up right on time at our hotel, and was gracious, informative and an all around great guy. We spent a lot of time walking the beautifully landscaped grounds. The house was a great historical landmark and helped tell the story of the plight of the slaves who lived there as well as the hardships that befell the family after the civil war. Mike really took time to make sure my daughter and I had a memorable experience. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a relaxed walk through the history of Charleston. One thing to point out is the entry fee to the event was not included in the price. It is listed as such but I missed that detail when booking, so I thought others might, too. Thanks again, for Mike! That was a great day!

    The tour is excellent! Mike is caring, patient, and super knowledgeable. I can feel his passion and love for the tour and Charleston through the detailed history stories he shared. The tour started with a drive through historic Charleston and a quick visit to Saint Michael's Church. Then we went to Middleton Place Plantation and had a detailed tour of the ground, garden, the house, and the stableyards. I learned so many things through this tour and enjoyed it from start to finish. Highly recommend this fantastic and full-of-history tour, and kudos to Mike!

    Our guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. I enjoyed learning how indigo was made and how rice was harvested and shipped. Our guide told us about the family and how they lived back then. A great tour!

    We felt the tour was expensive for what is was. Mike was friendly and reasonably knowledgeable though. Mostly one side of the Plantation life was represented. Amazing gardens and setting.

    This person received a personal 3 hour tour including transportation to the plantation for $125. It would have cost her $150 to take an uber there and back so it's hard to see how it was too much money. As for as one sided, I spoke extensively about the life of slaves on the plantation and stated the facts to the best of my knowledge.

    Beside the fact it was cold and rainy, Michael was great. We still got to see the gardens and the house. His knowledge of the area was very interesting, This was our first trip to Charleston and his presentation of the area encouraged us to come back. Michael also introduced me to a new culinary delight of mushrooms on toast.

    We started out with a short tour of historic Charleston, then drove to Middleton. The plantation grounds were absolutely breathtaking. The flanker home tour was fun. The best part of the trip was Mike, our guide. He was so knowledgeable and friendly and went way out of his way to make our tour enjoyable and memorable..
