What To Expect

Depart from a central Cozumel location and enjoy a short cruise on a stylish ferry along Cozumel’s picturesque west coast. On arriving at your dive site, board your authentic US Coast Guard Certified submarine and dive to the intriguing depths of the ocean to explore Chankanaab, an environmentally protected marine park considered one of the world’s prime diving destinations.

Cruise along the ocean bed to discover the diverse and dazzling marine life of the protected park, appreciating the rare opportunity to venture where only experienced scuba divers have gone before. View the underwater wonderland through large circular windows as your informative guide directs your attention to parrotfish, grunts and groupers.

Watch as your captain expertly navigates the submarine through enormous 30 foot (9 meter) coral heads, providing captivating commentary throughout the deep-sea voyage. Capture your underwater moments on camera before your submarine returns to the surface. Then, venture back to the original departure point on the ferry, where you tour concludes.

For your own safety, explorers on this activity must be able to safely navigate backward through a 12-step ladder (handrails available). Guests confined to wheelchairs cannot be accommodated on this tour.
For your own safety, the minimum required height is 3 ft and 4 years old, for children.
Children are considered from 4 years to 12 years. No infants allowed.

All participants must pay a ticket.
Pregnant, without previous complications, can carry out the activity up to the 6th month of pregnancy.
Access in a bathing suit and / or barefoot is not allowed.
Tour operation subject to permissible weather conditions.
Atlantis Submarines Cozumel reserves the right to refuse admission in case of adverse conditions for the safety of our passengers.
If you do not follow and / or do not comply with the indicated safety and health instructions, you will not be allowed to continue with the activity. Refund does not apply in this situation.
This tour/activity will have a maximum of 45 travelers

Cancellation Policy

You can cancel up to 24 hours in advance of the experience for a full refund.

For a full refund, you must cancel at least 24 hours before the experience’s start time.
If you cancel less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded.
Any changes made less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time will not be accepted.

Cut-off times are based on the experience’s local time.
This experience requires good weather. If it’s canceled due to poor weather, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund.

The whole experience was amazing. Each employee gave excellent service and a friendly atmosphere. You could tell the employees wanted it to be the very best excursion we could experience. They did just that!!! I recommend anyone to do this excursion. We will book it again the next time we’re in Cozumel. Thanks for a great experience!!!!

A memorable tour with an excellent crew and efficient service. I was concerned about being claustrophobic, the the sub's interior provided plenty of large portholes with wonderful views. Highly recommend the tour and would be happy to repeat it as well.

It was lots of fun. Kids really enjoyed it. Bucket list worthy. Well organized. Priced right. Narrator was unintelligible. Happy kids overpowered her by a long shot so the educational value is low.

Excellent experience overall but cramped inside submarine.

The process is smooth with experienced staff and crew. Safety was high on their agenda. Be warned though - that the submarine has bucket seats - 1 per person and this made the submarine feel very cramped. I suppose it depends on the people who are sitting around you. Overall good experiance.

It was what was aa expected. Some fish. One small stingray. Nothing significant. A decent narration about the reef and efforts to protect it. We felt safe.

Seeing so many different kind of species of fish stingrays, and a sea turtle all the workers on land and on the water were fantastic. I would advise everyone to go and see it and do it. It is well worth your time.

Meeting place needs to be changed to cruise ship dock

About a 25 minute minute walk from ship then an additional $7 a piece for some kinda tax. Once we loaded tender they stopped and picked up a group on a dock close to ship. 🤦🏻‍♀️ think it was close to a Cozumel photo op with ships in back ground. With that being said a lot of walking could have been avoid with better communication from company…with that being said the experience itself is amazing. I did this same company in Hawaii in 2001 and their price is still the same!!!! AMAZING!! When will you have a once in a lifetime experience of going down in a submarine a 104 feet for such a great price!!!!!

A Quality underwater experience!

Easy reservations that completed with no issues. All details of the reservations were accurate. About a 15 minute walk from the cruise terminal on all level ground. No taxi required for average walk pace. Print your receipt to pdf on your phone or paper printout if available. You don’t get a receipt until paid-usually the day in advance of the reservations. So you may not have local internet to complete links?? Great hosts at the main offices as well as on the Sub! Great views underwater! Best underwater adventure we have experienced!

A fun couple of hours with a friendly, professional crew, on land, on the Ana transfer boat AND on the submarine. Would recommend this tour. Easy to find and less expensive than the cruise ship excursion.

Disappointed and Too Much Wait Time

Was told to get here 45 minutes early, and then the outward boat ran 30 plus minutes late (1 hr and 15 mins for wait). You travel 15 minutes or so to submarine location site. Board sub with 40 plus people. Sitting is back to back, two rows of 20 plus, starboard side and port side (starboard views way better—had to sit on port side at direction of leaders), and touch back of person on other side. Underwater for 40 minutes, and then back to dock (had to drop off cruise ship passengers first). Total time of 3 hrs and 20 minutes with only 40 minutes under water. I recommend snorkeling or diving instead. It was touristy and disappointing.

Poor booking management.

We arrived at 12:28 and was told that we were too late for our 12:30 meet time and 1:00 trip. Two of the four in our group were sick and could not make the trip but we were told that there wouldn't be any refunds even when the trip was sold out. The event was good but management of booking was very poor.

Nice experience, but saw limited sea life as compared to Atlantis subs done in other countries. Ride to sub was very rough with older ship. Not much around Atlantis office so don't get there too early.
