Not a good experience

Unfortunately this was not a good experience. Our guide Bilal was more of a driver than a guide. We would arrive at a location and he would tell us to read the signs. He only spoke to us in the car when we would ask him a direct question. The locations on the tour could have been fun and interesting had the guide been more engaged. Hopefully he was just having a bad day.

Memorable trip with excellent guide

A must-do if staying in Doha. I booked this as a solo trip. Amar was an incredible guide who went above and beyond to make the trip a memorable experience. Amar expertly guided me throughout northern Qatar, and it was clear that he was not only knowledgeable but also very passionate about the country’s history and development. Amar’s easy-going personality made the trip always exciting, even during the times spent driving between locations. The locations themselves were also quite interesting, and gives visitors a good overview of the top must-sees in Qatar. I highly recommend this tour, especially with Amar, to anyone considering visiting Qatar!

The Tour Company was good

The company and driver were excellent. We thought it was a small group tour but it was a private car Large 4WD for the two of us. The fishing village was a town and you only go to the fishing port to look at the fleet (not exciting). The purple island is not purple and not an island. If you haven’t seen mangroves before it would be okay but if you have then same same - almost no wildlife. The fort was interesting. Overall a good trip especially as Doha day trips are limited unless you want to go driving in the sand dunes

Best part of the tour was the mangrove. Impressive greenery in the middle of the desert. The beauty of the desert! Javid was knowledgeable and helpful, very informative. Careful driver.

North Qatar highlights in a nutshell

This is a good half day tour if you want to efficiently see the main attractions in the north. Our guide, Javid, was very informative and made sure that we got the very best photos of all the sites including some of World Cup stadiums along the way. He thoughtfully made a pit stop and bought us fruit juice to make sure we were well-hydrated since it was extremely hot during the day when we toured the sites.

I am the only visitor on that day at Al Zubara Fort. For some reasons, no entrance fee for me. As this is my first time in Qatar, I have 2-day stopover, and travel alone, the place is the must-visit place.

Enlightening Tour of Qatar's More Traditional Sites and Culture

The most enlightening and enjoyable part of this tour was the conversations that we had with our tour guide Qandeel Bilal. He was very informative about the locations that we visited, but additionally, he was able to explain to our private tour about the customs and traditions of Qatar. Via his conversations, we were able to get a good picture of life in Qatar. Furthermore, besides visiting all of the locations in the advertised itinerary, Qandeel pointed out to us many of the new stadiums that were recently built for the 2022 World Cup. The highlight of the tour was visiting the fort, and we had sufficient time there to explore the place and learn all about it. Although Doha is a beautiful modernistic city with amazing architecture, great museums and a lovely souk, as well as the very nice Katara Cultural Village (especially at night), it was worthwhile to explore beyond Doha and see several of Qatar's more traditional sites.

Very interesting to go out of Doha into the desert and learn about the significant history of northern Qatar . Unfortunately driver was very tired and was falling asleep at the wheel on the return journey

We were in transit to Kenya with a day layover in Qatar. We took the Private North of Qatar tour, seeing the fish market and touring Al Zubarah Fort. Our tour guide was very informative with history of the sites and country as well as the culture of Qatar and his own country, since he was not native to Qatar. We greatly enjoyed our day in Qatar.

Eine Ausflug um den umsteigebedingten Aufenthalt in Doha zu nutzen. Die Tour hielt leider nicht die beworbenden Versprechungen. Der „Reiseleiter („Fahrer“) war nicht sehr informativ, stellte sein Wissen zu den Sehenswürdigkeiten im wesentlichen nur auf Nachfrage bereit. Den Mangrovenwald haben wir nur aus der Ferne beobachtet (ca. 500m), „war ein Witz“ - Fotos wie in der Tour-Beschreibung auf der Website absolut unmöglich. Die "Al Khor archaeological towers" – auch in der Tourbeschreibung als Foto abgebildet – konnten nur im Vorbeifahren bestaunt werden. Die versprochenen Snacks wurden nicht angeboten, Wasser auch nur auf Nachfrage. Für den hohen Preis der Tour (170 EUR) einfach zu wenig.
