What To Expect

Get the most out of your time on the southern Dalmatian Coast by booking this full-day trip to see the highlights of the neighboring country, Bosnia and Herzegovina. After getting picked up at your hotel and meeting your guide, enjoy the trip north of the city, passing through rustic seaside villages until you get to the border (don’t forget your passport!).

Then carry on inland, stopping in Počitelj, a UNESCO-listed town. Take a stroll around town, and learn about its history as you stop to admire the historical structures of Haji-Ali Mosque and Sahat-kula, a silo-shaped fort on top of the hill above the town.

Drink in the views of the Bosnian countryside as the air-conditioned coach snakes its way toward Medjugorje. Once in the town, hop off the bus for a closer look at this spiritually important town. It all started in 1981 when six children claimed they’d been visited by the Virgin Mary. And ever since then, Medjugorje has been an important stop on the Catholic pilgrimage trail. Take some free time here to explore the town and even attend a church service, if you wish.

Then journey on to Mostar, a historical and culturally significant Balkan town, most known for its jaw-dropping beautiful bridge, connecting the Muslim to the Catholic sides of town. Stroll the streets of the town and take some time to witnesses the daredevils diving off of the bridge.

Head back to Dubrovnik and continue enjoying the views of the countryside until you’re dropped back off at your hotel.

Mixed feelings
Amanda_S, May 2024
We had booked this trip for a Friday unfortunately there were not enough people and we were only given a few hours notice that it wouldn't be running. We offered an alternative day - Saturday which we did eventually go for but as a result missed out on a day trip to Lokrum. Our driver happily offered to double up as a guide as well - Tony - he was really great and wouldn't hesitate to recommend him. Mostar was great however we wouldn't recommend Medjugorge, its mainly looking around a church. It's a long day and worth taking some snacks with you, we took croissants for breakfast and ate them on route.
Mostar was worth it!
Patrick_V, May 2024
We enjoyed our visit to Mostar. The view from the bridge was so beautiful! Medjugorje was OK. Our driver was from Mostar so was able to guide us to a restaurant with a view of the bridge, the river and the minarets.
Interesting sites but not a tour
Jeffrey_S, May 2024
This was a trip....not a tour. Our driver provided no information along the way....unlike the very good tour I had to Korcula yesterday....and we were told nothing at the fortification site or at Medugorje. The only guided part of the excursion was in Mostar where we were guided to a restaurant.
A wonderful little adventure

From the very start it was a great day I was picked up by our driver whom was so informative and friendly He told us the history of the region as we drove to medjugorie, we had time in medjugorie to climb apparition hill , which I found very special Then we went to Mostar with a stop along the way I loved every minute of it and would definitely recommend the trip to friends and family Top marks to our fantastic driver Who made the trip all the more enjoyable Also well done to the background team for arranging a pick up point and sending a photo to help Thank you all at viator
Fun day! Make sure to read description though
Molly_L, Apr 2024
This was a great way spend the day exploring and meeting fellow travelers. I really enjoyed Mostar and the other town center. The driver was very nice and knowledgeable, but only spoke when prompted (not a tour guide). We were in a small van of 8 people and it was lovely. Timings of stops were a bit odd, 30 min at Pocitelj which had lovely walks and sites to see, an hour at Medjugorjie (the holy site) where for those of us not interested in church was a bit long. (I didn’t read the description properly and didn’t realize Medjugorjie was holy site for Catholics with not much else to do.) Overall would definitely recommend, but make sure you read description so you go on the right tour! There are many and they go to different places.
Trip for Five
Alejandro_C, Feb 2024
It is the entire trip from Dubrovnik to Medugorje and Mostar that made it so exciting going thru the border of Bosnia-Herzegovina. our tour guide from Super tours Zach Zeljan is so nice and very thorough in explaining and showing the places we go through. Thats five stars for Zach.
Wonderful experience!
Justin_C, Dec 2023
Wonderful experience. Our guide was outstanding. Very knowldgeable and passionate about his country. My only complain is the front office is horrible with communication. Also, the 8am start time is not set in stone. We started at 715
Do this!
Stanley_W, Oct 2023
We had an excellent guide/driver, Marin. He was professional, friendly, and informative. While the first two villages where we stopped were both ancient and interesting, the highlight of the trip was visiting Mostar. It is a charming, captivating village that literally takes you back in time. This is a great way to see another beautiful and history-rich country with just a two hour trip out of Dubrovnik.
Excellent guide Oliver, beautiful day all round!
Paula_T, Oct 2023
Poćitelj beautiful…. Medjugore lovely to visit…. Star of trip was Mostar… shopping, swimmers… bridge… and food! Lovely coffee! And people… Oliver was great guide and lovely gentleman! Thoroughly enjoyable.. thank you
Attending the mass at...
Fe_G, Oct 2023
Attending the mass at Medjugorje. We suggest more time given to Medjugorje trip,i.e . Add 1 hour to medjugorje and reduce Mostar trip by 1 hour, So we Catholics will be able to view, if not climb , the apparition hill.
Great
Carmela_D, Oct 2023
Visit to medjugorje and kravice waterfall. Our guide is knowledgeable and entertaining. He was prompt.
An Inciteful & Cultural Experience
Jill_H, Oct 2023
We enjoyed being with a small group. The bus driver was friendly, a very good driver, & informative during our visit to Medjugorje. Our tour guide was great. Just the right mix of information & allowing time for reflection. Instructions clear, made sure we were all on time & nobody lost! Really enjoyed our time at Pocitelj & Mostar. Always wanted to walk across the Old Bridge & we did. One of the highlights of our trip to Croatia.
Highly recommended
WINGYIU_L, Oct 2023
A small group of 6. Nice guide and good driver as well. Allowed sufficient time for us to walk around Mostar and Medjugorje. Good suggestion for restaurant for lunch in Mostar. Overall was very good experience. Highly recommended!
Drop off tour of three towns. Mostar was the best town to see
shiree_f, Sep 2023
Mostar was great, there was good food and things to see. The other 2 towns were OK. The van we were in was cramped. We had to ride up front with the driver which would have been fine if there was more room. When we asked the driver questions he had good information on the towns and what we were seeing, but he did not talk about the sites without prompting. Overall this was more like a drop off service than a tour since our guide did not accompany us to the sites. He was a very good driver and had a good sense of humor. If you want a tour with a tour guide, choose another tour. If you want to see religious sites there are a couple ok the tour.
Worthwhile trip
Idgood1, Sep 2023
Great trip ; only disappointment was being only 1hr in Medgojorie. We didn’t have time to climb Apparition hill . The water Falls and Mostar were very interesting . There were adequate rest stops , the guide was very knowledgeable
