  • Persons wearing sleeveless shirts and shorts above knees are not allowed inside the cathedral.
  • The Cathedral of Florence is an “operating” church, and it can be closed to visitors for any liturgical reason, even without notice (for the funeral of a Cardinal, for example)
  • Please be aware that the off season is an opportunity for restoration work, often unannounced.
  • Visitors are advised that the Baptistery is undergoing restoration of the mosaics of the vault. We apologize for the inconvenience.
  • Entry to the Cathedral is not guaranteed as the Cathedral is a working church and hours can change without notice due to liturgical or other reasons.
  • Please note that backpacks of any size or dimension, and any bag designed to be worn on the back, are not allowed.
  • Florence can be very warm in the summer. Please be advised that this tour includes portions that are outside and could be in the full sun. Please bring a hat, small umbrella, or sunscreen if you are sensitive to the sun.
  • Clients must arrive at the meeting point 15 minutes before the start of the tour. This is due to the timed entry of the tickets.
  • Tickets are timed and expire within 5 to 10 minutes.
  • Please be advised that it is not possible to join the tour after it has commenced.
  • This tour/activity will have a maximum of 15 travelers

Cancellation Policy

You can cancel up to 24 hours in advance of the experience for a full refund.

  • For a full refund, you must cancel at least 24 hours before the experience’s start time.
  • If you cancel less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded.
  • Any changes made less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time will not be accepted.
  • Cut-off times are based on the experience’s local time.

Nice Tour

We enjoyed this tour and our guide was good. I only gave it 4 stars is because we had to stand in line at the Cathedral for 45 minutes. I thought since I paid for a guided tour we would be able to skip the line, but such was not the case. Everything else was good and the guide was full of great information; I believe his name was Carlo.

Excellent description of the time period art history by the guide. Sara the guide, explained the baptistery building history, then the cathedral rituals and the various paintings and artefacts. Climbing the bell tower and the view from the top was priceless

Our guide I think her name was Liza was incredible, her knowledge was impeccable.! The weather was not kind and we were stood waiting in the rain and she still kept us informed with her knowledge! Highly recommend this tour, it’s a must if you visit Florence.

The museum was beautiful and educational. Our guide did an amazing job throughout our tour of acquainting us with the rich history of Florence. The Duomo, while stark gave us a rich feeling of the immense history as did the Baptistry.

Martial was the best! She was very knowledgeable and conveyed her information in a logical and clear manner. We had a nice group of people, and she kept us together and moving at a "just right" pace. I would highly recommend this tour, especially with the tour leader we had. Loved the museum!!

Museum very informative, especially as it was raining heavily outside, so had to explain less in the wet. Be prepared to queue for 20-30 minutes even for an escorted group to get in the Dumo; also if raining make sure you have a good coat / poncho. Baptistry is very impressive on inside. Bell tower is a very tight staircase. There are several landings on the way up, so some of your party can wait there, plenty of stone seats.

Our tour guide, Alessandra, was excellent. She was so knowledgeable and her content was well chosen and coherent. She had many interesting stories to accompany the tour. I have studied Renaissance history for a long time and she made it all come to life.

The guide was great and very knowledgeable. Amazing building inside and out. But the tour company didn’t have earphone sets ready and so we stood outside in the rain for over half an hour before we could even start the tour. It was the first tour of the day so not sure why they didn’t have them ready.
