Beautiful facade

The exterior was amazing but when you enter into he duomo it was a little underwhelming as compared to what you will see when you are outside. But nevertheless it was still an enjoyable tour. We had a really good and patient guide even though there was some really difficult people in the group but she handled it perfectly and was super kind and polite. She was able to easily explain all the important artifacts inside the museum and history of how the basicilia and clock tower was built.

This experience was one of my favorites from my visit. We had the most wonderful guide (Colleen). Great explanations and she pointed out many things we would have missed had we explored on our own. She encouraged us to climb the bell tower for the fantastic view which was wonderful.

Really fantastic tour guide. We choose the Baptistry, the Duomo, the museum and the bell tower climb. I have mobility issues and walk slowly, the tour guide was very accommodating with my issues- got a chair when possible, pointed out places to sit and made sure I could hear her with my head piece even when I wasn’t with the group. She was knowledgeable, funny, passionate about her subject matter. It was great and she held my 12 and 13 yo daughters attention and we are not museum people. I wasnt sure what theBapstry was all about, so was pleasantly surprised. The museum was great- so glad we did that! Learned a lot about art, politics and the history of Florence. My husband and kids did the bell tour climb- maybe 30-40 minutes total and the view was spectacular! They loved it. Good to know that if you choose to climb and get scared or claustrophobic, you can turn around at any point. I highly recommend this tour. Ps the meeting and meeting spot was very clear and efficiently managed. High praise!! Thank you! It’s November and the crowds are completely manageable. We waited about 5 minutes to get into the Duomo (with skip the line pass). My family waited about 10 ‘minutes to climb the bell tower. Very reasonable.

The tour guide was knowledgeable but repeated himself often. He would also leave us standing in one spot for 30+ minutes at a time. Maybe this should be a tour for half the time and allow us to move around more.

Buongiorno, Florence has one of the most important religious areas in the world and spending 2.5 max 3 hours focused on it is the least amount of time for visiting with no rush sites like Baptistery, Cathedral and Museo dell'Opera del Duomo. You can find many companies offering you much shorter tours including in 4 hours Uffizi, Accademia and Duomo but not at FlorencePass. We want to highlight each venue at the time, we are Florentine! Marzia was such a great guide: highly knowledgeable, very friendly, and energetic. This tour really brought the history of the Duomo complex to life as we learned about both the narratives behind its construction and the details of the structures themselves. Would highly recommend to anyone looking to visit the Duomo and wanting to learn all of the intricacies of its history.

The tour was great! The baptistry ceiling was being restored, so we couldn’t actually see it at all, but the guide told us all about the baptistry and then walked us through the Duomo Museum, explaining key pieces. Then the guide walked us through the basilica, explaining various aspects of it. She left us in the basilica after the tour was over to allow us time to explore some more inside.
