This private tour is a walking day tour. A private vehicle is not included. Public transportation or local taxis maybe used to transfer between sites. Exact transportation costs can be discussed with the guide after a reservation is finalized. Please have Japanese Yen on hand for your transportation costs. If you wish to arrange for a private vehicle, please contact us directly. Private vehicles must be booked 5 days before the tour date.

Excellent tour. Cindy met us at our hotel and gave great advice about which locations would work best for us. We visited the Chureito Pagoda and springs at Oshino, both of which were beautiful. Would definitely recommend.

Really disappointed! Paid for half day tour and was told to pick three places to visit on the list, noting it was a half day (6 hours). Visited only two places and spent the majority of the tour on public buses, spending only one hour at 5th Station Mt Fuji and 30 minutes at the Lava Cave; rest of the time was on a bus (which I had to purchase tickets for on top of the cost of the tour). Meeting time was 0930 at Kawaguchiko Station and we finished back at 1545; having stopped at only two locations to be advised that we drove past the lakes on the bus so that was part of it. Tour costs, plus multiple bus tickets and entrance to the lamest cave I’ve ever visited added up to an expensive day out sitting on a bus. 5th Station was amazing, but being taken there by a tour guide added no value and could have done it all myself for much cheaper.

We also understand that the time on the busses can be frustrating to those not accustomed to Japan’s public transportation. Moto organised an incredible tour for us of the Mt Fuji Five Lakes Area, the Aokigahara Forest and ice caves. He brings an abundance of experience, enthusiasm and passion for showcasing the natural beauty of the area and was able to take us to some truly scenic locations to observe Mt Fuji. He also truly went above and beyond in helping to get us to a central train station and ensuring we were able to get to Tokyo as we had not pre booked our return train tickets during a very busy local travel period. The forest was a particular highlight as the carpet overgrowth over magma rock and tranquility of the location was truly mesmerizing.

Our tour guide, Chinami san, was really helpful. Not only did she make us stick to the timetable (which is the most important thing since we did not miss a single bus ride), but also, she is also able to keep up with our pace. On top of it, she brought those places to life with historical information that we would otherwise under-appreciated.

This has been our favorite tour in Japan yet. Chinami-san thought of all the details to make our 6-hr tour in the Mt. Fuji five lakes area a trip to remember. Having lived in the area for many years she knows so much history and knew all the best spots to take us to see. We learned about the history of the area from both a naturalistic and cultural perspective. She easily adjusted details of the trip at the last minute due to weather and our family's interests to make sure we had a great time. I highly recommend!
