Marina was a fabulous host/guide who was very knowledgeable and foods. We had the best cone of fried foods and focaccia at the market, then went to a couple sit down restaurants where we tried 3 different delicious pasta dishes, then focaccias with different toppings in an old cistern restaurant. Then gelato and a chocolate shop. She was very helpful with the history of Genoa also.

Marina’s personality made the walking food tour exceptional. The history of Genoa was amazing to learn. Wish we could take her with us for the rest of our trip. The food was a real treat but Marina was the highlight.

Valentina was a fantastic guide, the food tastings were plentiful and varied and I loved that we visited small out of the way cafes and restaurants. We had a fun time and Valentina was very knowledgeable about the city of Genova and its history.

Our guide, Marina was excellent - imparting her local knowledge and enthusiasm for Genova. We thought thete was alot of "bread-type" food experiences - would have like a pasta or something lighter.

Our tour guide deserves a 5 star review, she was very knowledgeable about Genoa and the history of it along with personal stories about the city. My only disappointment is with the cost of this 2 1/2 hr tour - way over priced for the food we received - I saw most prices and we were charged more triple or more for this excursion! Over $200 for two people!

Genoa Food Tour With Marina

The food we experienced. It was not fine dining. It was food eaten by ordinary people, including the workers from the nearby port. And the history Marina gave us of Genoa and surrounding areas. It acquainted us with the area through the food, and was a great cultural experience. Marina is very knowledgeable of the area and its food and she communicated all of this in a fun, interesting way. We made several stops and each one educated us not only on delicious Genovese food but the culture and history as well. Highly recommend this and food tours in other countries as a great way to learn about the area you are visiting.

Best excursion of our trip. Excellent tour guide. Very knowledgeable about her country and city. All food was excellent. We chose the gourmet option and well worth the cost. Just be aware your NOT returned to meeting point.

We had a fabulous time on our traditional afternoon food tour! Not only did we get to sample some delicious local cuisine with our wonderful tour guide Beatrice but we also enjoyed meeting the other members of our group. Beatrice went above and beyond to accommodate my food allergies and she shared many fun facts about Genoa. If you do this tour in the afternoon you won’t need to eat dinner!

Marina was amazing. Key thing that made it a success got accurate directions where to meet (including map pin point) and a picture of Marina We went to 4 food stops. First was a quant place with wonderful focaccia. Next lunch. The beef was so tender and the pesto lasagna amazing. Food was plentiful. Next a specialty focaccia with a variety of toppings. Wine was amazing and bought a bottle. We topped off food portion with gelato. Not only did we have great food Marina let us jump in to two churches and she was well versed on architecture pointing out key unique things. The atmosphere she set with group made it so much fun
