A fun way to see the city

Not recommended - guide was late - ride along some very busy streets

We have been on a few tour excursions from Viator and they have all been five star. This is the first time we have been very disappointed. We were told to meet our guide at the store by 945 for 10 o’clock tour. We got there at 9:30 and the sign on the store front said it opened at 9 AM but no one was around. Another group of six joined us a few minutes after that. Our guide finally showed up at 10:10. He did not look like he had any desire to be there. There were eight of us in the group, and he did get us all on ebikes. Luckily, we all had experience riding E bikes because he was not offering any assistance. We went on our tour And some of it was on bike paths, but a lot of it was on very busy streets.. At one point we went through a dark tunnel with traffic, I am not sure if we should’ve been on that road. There were a few other spots that were very dicey. I am just very happy that we all made it back without an accident. Unfortunately, our guide did not seem interested in the tour, and he was very difficult to understand. I did not get his name because he never gave it to any of us. I realize looking at the reviews that this is a minority opinion, but our experience was not good and I would not recommend this excursion.

Modern eBike tour into the heart of ancient Genoa

Our guide, Gavino, was awesome for the entire Genova ebike excursion. Equipment is first rate and very well maintained. Gavino's 12-year knowledge of the city and its history is impressive, as he deftly handled nearly every off-the-wall question we threw at him. He provided great insights for restaurant suggestions, including gluten-free eateries. And, a local (read "non-touristy") Gelato shop near the seashore offered an amazing selection of this sweet Italian favorite. Wonderful historical and cultural experience to see old/new areas of one of the oldest cities in Europe. o! Close to cruise ships...the only small negative is pick-up location is on edge of rough area but okay during the day. HIGHLY recommended. Thanks Gavin!

Our guide Gavino was knowledge, friendly and entertaining! 6 of us in the group - mum & dad (mid 50’s) and kids in their 20’s - bike ride was suitable for all of us! Felt we saw so much of Genoa from small cobbled alleys, main squares and roads and the pretty seaside village! Quite challenging on the route back as the streets were much busier - but we all made it back and had a good laugh! Would thoroughly recommend if you are ever visiting Genoa! Thanks for a memorable experience!
