This was not a “tour”- this was a driver that spoke very few words- not even the slightest cordial comment on where we were visiting- very disappointed

Not what was promised

This was a HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT! The ferries were not running which was our reason for booking. Driver changed the order of the itinerary driving through Santa Margarita to Portofino. By the time we returned to Santa Margarita the shops were closed and he said yes, winter hours. Also requested a sedan and got a minibus. Last year we travelled in Austria, Germany and Spain using Viator with great success. This was a very expensive tour and did not come close to what we expected!

Francesco was very professional and had a nice day planned for us. Even though we had a language barrier we were able to communicate using our translation app which we all enjoyed. He helped us learn a little more Italian . I was with my daughter and daughter in law who love to take photos. Not only was he patient with them but he found a perfect places to take pictures. His suggestions on restaurants were also very lovely. Each place he took us to was more beautiful than the next. I would highly recommend this to tour and I Francesco as your guide.

Either Viator needs to update the description of this excursion or Enrique Limousines needs to improve the quality of their service. We knew we wouldn’t have guided tours at each stop, but through the aviator description AND communication with Enrique prior to the tour, we were led to understand that we would at least be hearing descriptions of the sites/towns as we passed. What we got was purely a driver. When we got in the car he asked us “where to first”? We were like, ummm, we hired you. We drove to each town in silence for the most part - no descriptions of the towns or anything of significance as we passed. Driver was able to answer some questions when we asked. We did appreciate the slightly awkward & quiet walk around Camogli with him - we’d not have seen a couple of things without that. And, we had a very wonderful lunch in an out of the way place that bumped up my review just for that. We did this excursion as part of a 9 day cruise where we did multiple activities with multiple operators in Italy and this was far & away the least worth our money. It’s probably cheaper to hire just a driver or if you want an actual tour like this describes, invest your money somewhere else too.

If booking this experience, you are getting a private driver to take you to Portofino, Santa Margherita and Camogli. Our driver named Michele was a very kind man and tried his best to communicate with us using google translate. Our Italian was very limited so we couldn't ask questions but basically it was straight forward. He dropped us off at each spot, let us explore and we would meet up at a designated spot! We were able to spend as much time as we needed in each place. He picked us up at the cruise ship port in Genoa and dropped us off in a timely matter. Thank you Michele for the great time!

Viator does not stand behind their words!

We booked the guided tour through Viator and asked for an English speaking guide. The tour description says you will have a guided tour through Portofino and Santa Margherita. Enrico Limousine Service was our tour operator. Our driver was very polite and competent as a driver, however, he spoke very little English and we could not communicate the simplest of questions to him. He was strictly a driver. We were just dropped off at the various sights with no direction or history. When I called Enrico Limousine to find out why we did not have an English speaking guide, the man who answered the phone said we only booked a driver. I told him the tour description said our tour included a driver and English speaking guide, and he just kept saying we only booked a driver. It was our first time to the area, and we were so disappointed that we were not able to get the history of the areas we were looking at. We contacted Viator about a credit for not being provided with the services that we paid for, and we were told that they were not able to give us a credit. I WILL NOT BOOK ANOTHER TOUR THROUGH VIATOR, AS THEY DO NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR WORD. I am also going to contact my credit card company about disputing the charges.

Hello, I am sorry for not guaranteeing you what you thought you bought but we are a LIMO service and there are no guides on board the vehicles and Viator knows it. Though your English-speaking driver can offer commentary while driving you around, they are not allowed to do so outside of the car. If you would like someone to walk the sites with you or give commentary within major landmarks, private guides are available for hire at an additional cost. The driver will be happy to make suggestions about the best places to eat throughout the day.

Very disappointed - Did not get a tour guide we have gotten a driver only

The locations were beautiful however, we paid for a tour guide/driver and all we got was a driver. We also paid for an English speaking tour guide/driver and Daniel as lovely as he was, did not speak English. When I asked him which town we were in he told me what time it was! This is unacceptable in my opinion for as expensive as this tour was we were on our own to tour the areas that was not what I wanted not what I chose and not what I expected. He had no idea that the ferry was not running from Santa Margarita to Portofino he has no suggestions for us on where to have lunch or the other tour guys we booked did those things for us we were completely on our own if I wanted that I would’ve just taken a taxi. I might I add he was not where he was supposed to be to pick us up leaving us to walk back-and-forth looking for him which added up to like the 2 mile walk for us

We had a lovely day getting driven around to see different towns - camogli, portofino, and Ste Margherita, but it was more of a hired car only. There was no guidance /suggestions on what to do, where to eat or any info of the area. We thought we would go on a ferry to the village, but we didn’t. We did get to decide how much time we had in each village.
