What To Expect

Meet a knowledgeable, local guide at your Girona hotel for an 8:30 am departure, then board a climate-controlled minivan for the trip to the Cap de Creus National Park, set in the northeastern part of Catalonia.

Walk along the edge of the park’s cliffs, where you’ll have sweeping views across the Gulf of Roses, then visit the park’s picture-perfect lighthouse. The next stop is the Cadaqués, longtime home of the Surrealist artist Salvador Dalí—visit the town on foot, following stone-paved streets to beaches, landmarks, and the local church, the Esglesia de Santa Maria.

You’ll have time on your own to purchase lunch before the trip to Saint Pere de Rodes, following a route with views to the Bay of Port de la Selva and the northern flank of the Cap de Creus massif. Take a guided tour of the former Benedictine monastery, which is seen as among the best examples of Romanesque architecture in Catalonia.

After the tour of Saint Pere de Rodes, begin the return trip to Girona, where this tour concludes with hotel drop-off round 6pm.

Highly recommended!

This was an excellent day spent exploring and learning. Beautiful landscapes and a wonderful, rich history that was told so eloquently by our guide, Alvar. Our small group had a mobility challenged individual and the driver and Alvar made every accommodation to make his experience enjoyable.
Great Addition to Girona Visit

Marc was a wonderful guide and host. He combines a passion for his home province with the experience of his history background to make this a memorable tour. Marc is great with details and interesting bits of trivia. His communication is excellent and his English is perfect. The wine tasting was fun and not intimidating at all. The roads are twisty so wear your sea bands or take your Dramamine. My family really enjoyed all the aspects of this tour!
