An Awesome and Authentic Experience

My friend and I were looking to pass the day, see some of the surrounding areas around Guadalajara, and learn a little about Tequila in the process without a big group tour experience or hokey tourist trap. This fit the bill perfectly! Thanks to COVID, Herradura was closed but I am certain that this experience was all the better as a result. Our guide, Alejandro, was OUTSTANDING. He was very knowledgeable about the area and answered all of our many questions about Guadalajara and the tequila-making process. The tour consisted of just me and my buddy, which was great. El Último Agave and Hacienda de Oro were awesome experiences and both venues were quaint and beautiful. The tasting took place in a beautiful setting overlooking the agave fields and the people who were running it were amazing! Jazmín did an OUTSTANDING job giving her first tour in English and both Alejandro and Jazmín were kind enough to speak in both Spanish and English so that I could work on my Spanish and my buddy could still understand. We also were able to see the Sauza factory and eat a delicious lunch on their premises before wandering the streets of Tequila. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone looking for a genuine, authentic, and unique experience. El Último Agave/Hacienda de Oro were definitely the highlights and if you can pay a little for the private tour, it is well worth it!

An Awesome Authentic Experience

My friend and I were looking to pass the day, see some new sights, and learn a little about tequila in the process. However, we wanted to steer clear of big tours and hokey tourist traps. This experience was awesome. Thanks to COVID, Herradura was closed but I am positive that this experience was all the better. It was a private tour with an AWESOME guide, Alejandro. Alejandro was very knowledgeable about the area and answered many of our questions about Guadalajara and the surrounding regions. El Último Agave and Haciendo de Oro were amazing. The scenery was fantastic and the tasting took place in two beautiful and unique locations. Jazmín was an outstanding guide at both of these locations and did a great job giving her first tour in English. Both Alejandro and Jazmín also we’re kind enough to speak in both Spanish and English so that I could practice my Spanish and my buddy could still understand. This was such a memorable experience. We also got to see the Sauza property and town of tequila. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone looking for a more authentic experience! Pay a little extra for the private tour, if possible.

Excellent tour, particularly the Herradura tour. Our driver, Manuel, was fine but nothing too special, but we had a different guide for the distillery who was great. The town of Tequila was very cool as well and glad we got to spend some time there. Highly recommend overall.

It was a very educational yet entertaining tour. The lunch and walk around Tequila was not needed. Just the tour in the Casa Herradura sufficed. Great tour guide. Answered all our questions - a lot of knowledge.

All around fantastic tour! Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and did the tour in both English and Spanish which was extremely helpful to everyone on the bus. All three distilleries were unique in their own way, the town of tequila is a site to behold in itself, and the lunch provided was fantastic! I highly recommend this to anyone interested in tequila, history, or both!

We had a great time on this tour. We originally wanted to take the tequila train, but it was booked up, so we opted for this tour. Honestly I think it was better. We arrived at the hacienda before the mob on the train, and felt as though we were getting a private tour. Our guide took us the a fantastic underground restaurant for lunch. Our guide couldnt have been nicer or more knowledgeable. I think it worked out for the better. We had a great time, and it was quite a bit less expensive. I would recommend it to everyone.

We definitely enjoyed this tour. We were picked up on time at our hotel and proceeded to pick-up other passengers as we headed out of town. The City Tour of Tequila was interesting, the Tour Guides were informative and entertaining. We chose the Sunday tour because of other reviews we had read mentioning a buffet and the venue where it was offered. We were not disappointed, the venue was great and the food was very good. Overall, the day was well spent and if someone has never experienced a Tequila Tour then this is money well spent.

If you have time this is a must! Aurturo was our guide and was very knowledgeable about every where he took us. Lots of great history and lots of great things to do! Arturo made our trip very enjoyable, smooth and he was very attentive.

FUN! FUN! FUN! This tour is amazing. I HIGHLY recommend this tour to everyone. Guide Arturo is fantastic. He speaks English and is extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and accommodating. We first toured Casa Herradura and it is amazing. The tour included a Jimador demonstrating how they cut and shape the agave, a taste of the raw and roasted agave and concluded with a generous tequila tasting. The museum on the property is really fascinating. We then went to Tequila town and visited Sauza and Reyes Barajas. The town is pretty and quaint. We finished up at Tequila Cofradia for lunch in the Taverna. The restaurant is stunningly beautiful and the food was excellent... buffet all you can eat. The ceramics in the Cofradia gift shop are also stunning and beautiful. We took advantage of a great sale on tequila also.. made with the ceramic bottles is beautiful shapes and colors. If you are on the fence, dont be .. you will have a great time. .. see pics below.

Would definitely recommend booking this tour! Everything was organized very well, and it was a fun/educational full day experience! They pick you up at the hotel and take care of you throughout the many stops. We did the option of a horseback ride through the agave fields which was beautiful, it is good to know that you won't be getting the tour of the second tequila factory but there is still time to explore the actual town of Tequila.

This all-inclusive tour was great - it was filled with so many fun activities and had snacks and drinks in the van. I highly recommend this tour! My husband and I were picked up directly from our hotel, toured the beautiful Casa Herradura, the town of tequila, and had lunch in a beautiful underground restaurant. We had an English speaking guide who was very knowledgeable and friendly. Three different tequila tastings! This was a great way to spend the day, see beautiful sights, and drink tequila!

Overall we loved it a lot. We were expecting to be part of a tour group on a bus but we ended up being just the two of us plus our tour guide. We were picked up promptly at our hotel and we drove directly to Casa Herradura in Amatitlan. It was just as beautiful and interesting as the pictures on the website. My only complaint would be the entire tour was in Spanish so given my limited intermediate level understanding of the language, I really didn't get as much out of it as I would have liked. Normally I wouldn't have said anything because I was in Mexico, but we were given the option to choose the tour in English or Spanish so I was disappointed about this. The hacienda tour was separate from different tour guide from the rest of the tour so I'm still giving 5 stars because we had such a good time. Then we went to the town of Tequila and met the horses in the central square and rode them all the way to La Cofradia for lunch and more tequila tasting. It was really quite magical and the views were amazing. My horse got spooked by some dogs and started running through the town on our way to the agave fields, but looking back it added to the adventure and the tour guides did a good job getting the situation under control! Overall we loved it would do it again and recommend to others.
