What To Expect

Start your your with hotel pickup and transfer to Ho Chi Minh Pier where you board a luxury speedboat made of high-quality teak wood. Zip along the Saigon River to the infamous Cu Chi Tunnels, a ride that takes about one hour along tree-lined waterways.

Get great photo ops of life along the river and enjoy unlimited refreshments served on board your speedboat. Morning tours include a light breakfast with lunch while afternoon tours include lunch.

Upon your arrival at the historic Cu Chi Tunnels complex, watch a short introductory film then follow your guide into the winding, underground network for approximately two hours of exploring the war memorial park.

Visit underground bunkers that housed kitchens, meeting rooms, ammunition depots and hospitals, part of the 75-mile-long (121-km) tunnel complex built by the Viet Cong during the Vietnam War (known as the American War by the Vietnamese). View authentic relics from the war such as camouflaged tunnel entrances and a bullet-riddled tank.

After your Cu Chi Tunnels tour, enjoy a traditional Vietnamese lunch at a riverside restaurant, with a menu that may includes spring rolls, chicken and beef dishes, and soup. If you take the later tour, dinner is provided.

After your meal, depart Cu Chi and return by speedboat to Ho Chi Minh City. Upon arrival at the central pier, you will be driven back to your hotel.

Best way to travel!

This is the 2nd time I have done this tour, the first being 14 years ago. Just as great the second time around. For a family with young kids, the 1 hour boat ride is much preferred over the 2.5 hours on a bus. Open air, flat and fast! Back home before the heat of the day. The tour itself is amazing and eye opening and highly recommended for anyone visiting HCMC.

First class experience! From pick up to drop off, this trip was amazing. Travelling by speedboat to Cu Chi Tunnels was awesome. Breakfast on board was plentiful and included an iced coffee too. The quality of the lunch provided at the Cu Chi Tunnels was excellent (including my daughter's vegetarian options). Our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and made the Cu Chi Tunnels experience unforgettable. We would highly recommend and would definitely repeat the same tour if we visit Ho Chi Minh City again. Well done Les Rives!

Definitely worth it; go in the morning

This was a great experience. The boat ride was enjoyable and so much better than sitting in traffic for forever. Also, highly recommend going with the morning tour. We had so much more room and space for much of the tour before all the other crowds arrived. By the time we left for the return boat trip, there were hoards of other people at the tunnels.

Fantastic half day trip by speedboat to tunnels. Our guide Hui/Hi was excellent. Knowledgeable as he guided us around the various sites & displays. We avoided the crowds as we left really early, breakfast on the boat and then lunch after the tour finished before getting back on boat for ride home. Boat journey about 80 mins each way. Fantastic experience.

Getting to the tunnels was a great way to see another part of the city and also to avoid the traffic. Arriving early also avoided the crowded part of the day enabling us to see and hear more. The tour guide was extremely engaging and able to answer any questions posed to her. Highly recommend this tour.

Kha was an excellent tour guide. He had the perfect pace on the tour. He was extremely knowledgeable, had a great sense of humor and shared stories relating to that period in time. My sis and brother in law and nephews will be visiting in Dec. I have recommended they ask for Kha. And the boat ride and food were great too!

Our tour guide (Kang) was very knowledgeable and friendly, sharing lots of details on the history of the tunnels and their use during the war. We arrived before the crowds (maybe 1-2 busses were there as we disembarked the boat), which allowed us to take our time on the tour and not feel crowded at the various exhibits. The provided lunch was very good, as was the snack/ca phe on the boat ride out to the tunnels. The boat trip to/from the tunnels was great, got to enjoy the scenery and fresh air instead of going by bus. We would definitely recommend this tour.

Kha Nguyen was our guide and is one of the best, informative and animated. A wealth of knowledge and we learned a huge amount about Vietnam and especially the long history of the country. We will be back to explore further. This experience highlighted the resilience shown by the people not just during the better known conflict but also the language, the Chinese influence, incredible history. He was amazing!

Very professionally run tour. Punctual pick up, great journey to the site via speedboat with cool city views and scenery of the Saigon river. High quality tour guide, Nguyen, with insightful stories about the war and tunnel site. Food was also tasty. Small group gives a personal experience with lots of opportunities to ask questions.

Was pretty good, only prob was when it rained while travelling in the boat , even with the plastic screen pulled down the rain came in from the gaps on each side of the screen, needs to be closed off a bit more. Other than that it was great.😄

Taking the boat ride up and down the river was totally worth the extra money! (1.25 hours each way as opposed to up to 2 hours on the bus). We would strongly recommend taking this tour! Our guide, Hang, had us believing we were Saigon River experts as she shared tidbits going down river toward the tunnels. Once on the site, Hang did a great job explaining the different viewpoints of history by sticking to the facts, always patiently answering questions. In addition to leading us through the woods to see the structures, techniques, and tunnels, she agilely gave demonstrations on how the Vietnamese nationals would so easily attack and avoid the American forces. Going through the tunnel as a nearly 2-meter tall male was enlightening. Bring mosquito repellant!!! And be prepared for the firing range; it is loud. Because of the COVID-19 pandemic the restaurant at the Cu Chi boat dock is closed. So we had to eat lunch at the ROS Yacht Club. The staff was very rude and clearly unhappy that people who had been crawling around in tunnels were in their restaurant. Otherwise, we highly recommend this tour.

Fantastic and very professional excursion, picked up from hotel, informative guide on the Saigon river pointing out interesting points and then to the tunnel system, the same guide was fantastic and come across with a true passion for everything within the trip, we got there early and had a head start before the crowds massed, this was a fantastic way to experience the tunnels and escaping the crowds. book it! you won’t be disappointed.
