Jennie and Win were absolutely the best food tour guides. They drove us around the crazy streets of HCMC with ease and provided us with all the best stops to try the local cuisine as well as provide us with some history about Saigon and how the food originated. Jennie and Win answered all of our questions and also gave us a little sight seeing tour of the city. Would highly recommend this tour when visiting HCMC.

For foreigners worth even better than walking tours

Kelvin and Dan were excellent. The food tour was very informative I especially liked the fact that they went into explaining the diff ingredients of what we were eating along with which part of the country it is from etc. the scooter ride would the city was a thrill on its own, there are not many places left that you can do that . Highly recommend it . All the food stops were wonderful and I would not have discovered it on my own.

I’ve been in HCMC visiting my grandma and I really wanted to venture out on my own and explore the city from a local’s pov. This tour was everything and just that. My tour guide Jane (Minh) was incredible, so sweet, and easy to talk to. She made me feel so relaxed, comfortable, and like I was hanging out with an old friend. 10/10 would recommend this tour to anyone who wants amazing food and an adventure.

Disappointing - sounds better than it is

Being honest I probably wouldn't recommend this food tour to others. When booking the tour I filled out on the tour form that I don't eat fish/seafood (tried it many times don't like taste or texture - usually this is something I don't make a deal over and I will 'try' it but when I'm paying for an experience and have explained I don't eat seafood, I'd rather no eat it). On pick up, which was on time, I explained again I don't like sea food so if we could either skip it or maybe substitute it for something else that would be great. I was told Ok, so I was happy to go. The tour started off good, we were brought to a local restaurant to try the savory pancake and even got a chance at making our own. Here, I was given the pancake that did not have fish which I appreciated and I enjoyed the experience. I thought it was a good start to what was going to be a good experience. We tried some nice food options here including fried bao buns and shredded pork crispy rice which were both lovely. We were then brought to the flower market to try sugar cane juice (nice) and snails ( which I was willing to try but they are to a certain palette.) After this our tour guides told us we were now going to a local seafood restaurant to try some sea food, at this point again I asked to perhaps substitute this stop with something else or skip it as I wouldn't benefit from it. Our tour guides told us oh no this is the final stop of the tour we have no where else to go even though at this stage we had not triend some of the other items laid out in the itinerary. At the time, this made me disappointed as I clearly had informed them I wanted to stay away from seafood. So we were brought there anyway (as my boyfriend eats fish) - once we got their both tour guides were really encouraging me to try the seafood to a point which made me uncomfortable and I gave in to try it - I did not enjoy it. They both continuously asked me if I enjoyed it and to try more which I clearly did not want to do. In hindsight, I should have been more firm in my decision not to eat it. After this we got a desert which was pleasant but to be honest I was happy for the experience to be over as I had reached the point of not being interested. Once we were dropped back to our accommodation we went to get some food as I was still hungry. From looking at the itinerary I was looking forward to trying the beef noodle soup, Grilled Rice Paper Cake and Banh Mi (the highlight I was looking forward to) - none of which we got, rather disappointing. I would pride myself on checking reviews before booking and this tour had all good reviews, which I would only agree with to an extent. In my honest opinion I would have reservations about recommending this tour or I would strongly suggest that you are firm in what you want from it - after all you are paying for the experience.

Dear Lorraine. First, I would like to say sorry because you didn't get the best experience. Your review would help us a lot to improve in the future. I also ask the guides what happend on the tour and they told me you were happy at the end which made it very surprised when you left us a 3 star review. I think one of the reason is you chose the seafood option with less tastings(while you don't like fish at all). We have 3 options for you to choose and I think you didn't note this(you chose the one with more seafood). If you chose the Popular 11 Tastings option, we will have all 11 tastings on the tour and with not that much of seafood. I adjused that option on Viator thanks to your review so that the next customers can easily choose the option they want. Thanks so much again and hope all the best for you!

Foodie delight!!

I got a rare one on one food tour with Hannah! She was polite, enjoyed sharing information and was playful in her foodie story telling delivery! She was attentive, took care of all the food organization, expert navigator and driver, and put me first! I’m appreciative of Hannah, she let me have my time, I never felt rushed, she gave me a great intro to Ho Chi Ming’s vibrant food culture!! Highly recommend the tour, and better yet if you get Hannah, be in for a wonderful foodie tour!!! Memorable!!!

Awesome experience. So glad we did this. My 81 year old father-in-law, 70 year old mom, 15 year old nephew, and all the other adults in our family all enjoyed it. We all felt safe on the back of those scooters, and thoroughly enjoyed the food, seeing the sights, and the fun conversations with our guides. Definitely a must-do in HCMC.

Even our 86 year old gran felt safe on the scooter with these guys!

We had a most enjoyable evening with our university student hosts Duy, Hahn, Phuong and Minh. We were 3 in our 60’s and a little 86 year old lady.(Shirley) They were all very careful and caring with Shirley so elderly people shouldn’t be worried about doing the tour with these wonderfull young people. Just the 4 of us was great rather than another tour we saw with about 20 scooters. 8 courses of food and more than we could eat. Highly recommend this tour.

We had an amazing time on the Saigon food tour with our guides, Christian and Sam! They were very knowledgeable and showed us around different districts and some sight-seeing spots too! Zooming through Saigon traffic was exhilarating. The food was delicious, we loved the banh xeo and bo la lot! Would recommend having these two as your guides!!

Amazing experience with Christain! I had a wonderful tour that took us to try different dishes while discovering Saigon. I would probably never have tried these dishes if I was by myself and having Christain telling me about the dishes and the history of the different places we went to was absolutely wonderful. After all the food you even get a little sightseeing of the city center, I can't recommend enough, this is a must try!

A tour not to be missed when in HoChiMinh city, hosted by two very friendly and knowledgeable individuals, Den and Mia, we were treated to a range of food and drink delights of local cuisine, in between enjoying the chaos of the city scooter life (whilst feeling safe in the hands of our guides) as a passenger. Oh my goodness, I couldn’t recommend this tour enough. Christian and “T” were kind, thoughtful, extremely knowledgeable, fun, and I felt safe the entire time. The food was incredible and we definitely got to see a side of HCMC we never would have found on our own. The experience was as authentic as it could get and I’m so very grateful for our guides. Such a perfect way to spend the afternoon!

We had wonderful time. Riding a motorbike in Ho Chi Minh city on Friday night was exciting experience. Hannah and Jennie were very friendly, had great time during the tour. It was all from bottom of their heart, haha they know what I meant, haha. GAJA Jennie for food!

I've been in three countries in the last two weeks, and this was the best tour so far! It was a foodie tour, yes – lots of food!--but it was more!. We went to several districts in the city, and I learned a little about each one. it was great to be able to ask my guide questions about the town, about customs, about the food. It wasn't a sightseeing tour, but we saw several sites. I highly recommend. And get Christain, if you can!
