Rajnish_R, Apr 2024
Good drive ! Vibrant guide to brief all aspects . Spectacular views too . Hobart has been a great experience and enjoyed every bit of it !
informative, sad history
Shirley_A, Mar 2024
The bus driver & his stories he had a lot of information. Sadly the boat trip didn’t happen as the lady would not let us on as we were 1 minute late
Very worthwhile trip
Melanie_R, Mar 2024
The driver of the bus, Colin, was excellent. Very informative and amusing. We had a full day of exploring the area including Port Arthur. Excellent value for money.
Response from Host, Mar 2024

Excellent

This was a delightful tour on a beautiful day. We would recommend it as it covered the various areas we were interest (including the Isle of the Dead) in a very comprehensive way. The driver Colin was excellent. His humour and great source of information and made the day.
Lots to see
Guy_D, Feb 2024
An enjoyable day but we wouldn't recommend the 'guided isle tour of the dead' portion as there is so much to see at port arthur
Great day
Sally_C, Jan 2024
Our driver Hugo was a great tour guide, explained so much about everything and ensured we didn’t miss out on anything.
Had a ball at Port Arthur

Had a fantastic day. Port Arthur was great as a self paced tour. Isle of the Dead had some interesting insights. Phil gave us some fascinating information about Tasmania and had a never ending supply of dad jokes

Tour/day was great, I would highly recommend this tour! Phil, tour guide, was very knowledgeable about the local history and wildlife
Nice tour guide and historically interesting day in Port Arthur
Susan_S, Oct 2023
Our tour guide, Collin, was very funny and informative... we wish we could've toured the island of the dead but understand the safety issues...
Not enough time at the settlement
Marcus_O, Oct 2023
The experience was great but left us wanting more. We didn't get to the settlement until after 11, left on the boat cruise/Isle of the Dead tour at 12:30 which was great and lasted close to an hour. After that we chose to leave the settlement to see Remarkable Cave at 2:30. All in all we spent around 2 hours actually exploring the site. This was not nearly enough and we only saw half of what was available.
Response from Host, Oct 2023
Hi Marcus, Thank you for taking the time to review us. We are sorry to hear that your tour left you wanting more. The Remarkable Caves visit is advertised as optional and often gives those people who are more interested in the natural surroundings of the Penninsula rather than the history of the site a bit extra. We put a lot of effort into our itineraries to make sure there is adequate time for each highlight so we appreciate your feedback so we can get a better understanding of our guests wants. Thank you again for your time.

Highly recommend. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable, shared lots of interesting facts throughout bus trip. Port Arthur and Isle of the dead tour a must if you’re visiting Tasmania. Had a great day!
A knowledgeable guide can make a big difference and can bring a journey to life.
Karen_M, Oct 2023
The driver, Phil, was very knowledgeable and shared his knowledge of the towns and landmarks between Hobart and Port Arthur and stories relevant to our visit. He had a great sense of humor and we did appreciate his "dad jokes". He added to the day considerably.
Great experience of Tasmania history!
Erin_E, Oct 2023
We had a great time! Our tour guide Mark was hilarious and also provided a lot of historical context for all the places we went. If you are interested in transport history this is a must.
Magnificent Day Trip to Port Arthur
Stuart_D, Sep 2023
Comfortable and entertaining coach trip to Port Arthur via Richmond Coach driver and tour guide Darren was superb - he was friendly, helpful, very knowledgeable, and kept the tour cohort well and truly entertained Port Arthur was magnificent – the history, buildings, grounds, ruins, information centre, harbour cruise and staff were all superb The Isle of the Dead tour was also excellent - the guide's knowledge and passion were amazing The Memorial Garden honouring the memory of the people killed and wounded in the 1996 mass shooting was a very beautiful and sombre place Could definitely have spent a lot longer there
A grand day indeed
Anne_B, May 2023
Lots of interesting stops travelling to Port Arthur and our coach driver, Colin, was the master of dad jokes. He made the long journey a lot of fun with interesting historical anecdotes and facts on the way. Port Arthur itself is an amazing place with so much to see. Could have spent even longer there if we had more time. Hearing and reading many of the convict stories was quite haunting and so much to learn from the history of Port Arthur. Isle of the dead tour was a good add-on after the Carnarvon bay cruise and fascinating stories abound. Unfortunately the caves were not so ‘Remarkable’ as closed down for repairs, which was a shame as would loved to have seen them. All in all it was a truly memorable experience and one I would recommend.

Amazing experience for anyone
Owen_R, Apr 2023
Definitely without doubt, the Isle of the Dead tour, then there Port Arthur itself amazing to learn the history of both
Great day tour
Trevor_M, Jan 2023
Colin managed the day very well. Great skills with his presentation of information and good humour. Made the day as pleasant as possible for us to enjoy and experience.

Diana_B, Nov 2022
Amazing place to experience the history of tassie. unfortunately very cold and wet during our visit but still great to see the site including a special tour around the isle of the dead where over 1000 convicts and soldiers were buried. It certainly made you sympathetic towards those who had to live through /endure it all.
