Please select the TOUR + BUS option. Hotel pickups are available to ALL guests staying within 5min of the Hobart CBD. Please enter (or message) the name or address of your accommodation and our new shuttle bus will pick you up and deliver you right to your door. Guests located outside of the Hobart CBD can choose to meet at the Hobart Travel & Information Centre.

You can cancel up to 24 hours in advance of the experience for a full refund.

For a full refund, you must cancel at least 24 hours before the experience’s start time.
If you cancel less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded.
Any changes made less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time will not be accepted.

Cut-off times are based on the experience’s local time.
This experience requires good weather. If it’s canceled due to poor weather, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund.

Fun, engaging, professional and great value

Our Skippers commentary was excellent, clear, engaging and very informative, loved the way some knowledge of geography makes the viewing of interesting rocks so much more . Milly our first mate ensured everyone was enjoying themselves , answered all our questions with a wealth of knowledge and served us a delicious fresh morning tea and lunch. It was a fun and her guided walk was thoroughly enjoyable.

A very safe and knowledgeable guide in Mike and Tamsyn assisting. They were super friendly, and we got to do a full lap of the island. We saw seals at the southern tip, had wonderful experiences in the sheltered bay for morning tea, talked geology of the island which was fascinating. We had the boat poked fully into a cave, and had a fantastic lunch and drinks near Darlington in another sheltered cove. Tamsyn then led us on an informative walk on the island through the settlement. We saw wombats, bandicoots and pademelons. Overall, we were on the boat for five hours, and the island for two. Such an excellent experience. There was a bit of a swell on the east of the island, but that was managed skilfully and safely by Mike. Thanks so much!

Magnificent Maria Adventure

A most fantastic day had by my husband & daughter. Unfortunately I was unwell & was unable to go along...however, I was granted a refund which was unexpected but most definitely appreciated. The day started very early but with excitement. Dolphin pods, seals and absolutely magnificent scenery. Amazing food and drinks. Wonderfully entertaining & inciteful informative dialogue all day. Cute wombats and interesting history of Maria Island. All round, one of the best tours my family did while staying in Hobart. Staff & crew were amazing. Thank you for showing my family a wonderful snapshot of Southern Tasmania.

Nice day on Maria island

This is a great tour to experience Maria island. The scenery during cruise is gorgeous and we also spotted two seals on the rock. Besides, wombats are easily found on the island. This is a must go tour when visiting Tasmania!

I would highly recommend this day trip to anyone. I went with my husband and we both really enjoyed our experience. You learn a lot of information about the history and the crew are very friendly. Morning tea, lunch are provided with a drink. You can also have tea or coffee anytime. Views from inside the boat or up on top. I recommend this as A+++

Excellent cruise

The guide and skipper were both excellent. They were very helpful and friendly and also very informative. The lunch was pretty good too. The views around tge Island and the little bays were wonderful. The only negative was the check in process. We went down to the jetty, where people were milling about without knowing what to do. Someone eventually asked and we were all told to go back into town to check in. There needs to be better signage to advise people what the check in process is. Only at the office in town were we told we should have parked elsewhere - this check in process needs to be improved

Just awesome. Such a fantastic day, Michael is an incredible skipper. So knowledgeable. Zoe was fantastic. Spent a few hours walking on Maria island which was just abundant with wildlife. Saw so many wombat, kangaroos and pademelon. Our time cruising was just astounding , the views are breathtaking and we saw so many seabirds including eagles, and seals. This was the best tour I did in Hobart. Highly recommend this tour if you like wildlife and you like being on the water.

A perfect day around and on Maria Island

A perfect day on Maria Island - very light winds, little swells and a bright sunny day. The tour group was a fun and delightful bunch. So grateful for them. Our guide and Captain, Micheal, is knowledgeable and shared many interesting insights as we circumnavigated the island - its history to geological formations. With him was Zoe, who added to the running commentary and she spotted the whales too! Morning tea and lunch were delicious! Zoe guided us on land portion of the tour, so much to see on the island fm Kangaroo, wombat, geese and whales! A must do activity when in Tasmania.
