The staff was so knowledgeable and friendly! The bus driver that took us to the boat dock gave us a lot of local, interesting snippets of info about the area. The boat crew were very interactive and provided a multitude of interesting facts about whales in the area, and answered all questions the tour guests had.

Good Staff, A lot of Variables
Lauren_B, May 2024
This was just an average tour experience for me. Mendenhall Glacier is essentially just a full size bus ride to a drop off point for 45 minutes to explore. Some commentary from driver but not a lot of info on Juneau culture. Whale watch is in a large boat that you must be inside for safety until a whale is spotted and then they open up the front deck outdoors for viewing. The same people would rush to the front and it made everyone viewing the whales difficult. This is more a comment on the rude people on my particular tour than the staff as they were very polite and pleasant. I would book a smaller or more personal tour..
Great time

We had a great time saw the glacier and a few whales, timing was excellent nice people thank you so much!
Awesome, but a bit rushed
Jennifer_a, Jan 2024
This was a great tour, but very rushed. We only had a couple minutes to see the glacier and take a couple pictures and then there was a waterfall we could hike to and we had to almost run back from the waterfall to get back to the bus on time. We only we're at the waterfall for about 5 to 10 minutes taking pictures. We didn't get to see the museum or gift shop at all.
You will be so glad you booked their tour!!!

Whales, whales, and more whales! Great way to spend a cool, rainy day with a very knowledgable crew who seem to love what they do!! Makes me smile just thinking about it.
A whale of a good time

As you can see from the photo, we saw whales... as advertised! Many times. The crew is nice, helpful, and funny. I appreciated they offered snacks on the way out, as well as water, and there is a bathroom on board. The seats are very comfortable on the boat, and there's plenty of room for everyone to stand on the decks for the views. We even saw Mendenhall Glacier as we were zipping along from one whale sighting to another. It was really fun. We saw two whales that hang out together, then another that was feeding, so there were plenty of awesome photos of whales.

Great trip. The folks were very nice and got up as close as they could to see the whales. We saw several. I would recommend going earlier than October for whale watching. The whales had already started migrating south!
Book it! It's worth it!

Take the tour! You won't regret it. Such a great experience, I'll definitely do it again. Friendly staff, efficient process and most importantly, they found the whales!!! Trip of a lifetime!

Great sights and passionate guides. Awesome time visiting Mendenhall Glacier. Wish we had a bit more time. Loved the whale watching. Obviously up to the whales but what fascinating animals they are. Recommend you tour with this company. Ben our driver and guide was funny and informative. Taylor on the boat was knowledgeable and loves his job

An awesome experience for the whole family! Our kids absolutely loved it. We saw multiple whales and the weather couldn’t have been better!
Not the experience we were expecting
Judith_R, Sep 2023
We did not realize that this was going to be such a large group of people (around 48 people) on this excursion. It definitely took away from being able to see the whales as well with people standing in front of you. I was disappointed in the lack of commentary and the personalization of the excursion. Not the experience we wanted.
Exciting.
Margaret_B, Sep 2023
The guide Greg was very informative about the ecosystem and the animals of it. We saw a large number of whales, so exciting! We were on the smallest boat, with only 10 passengers on it. The few. number of people allowed for movement on the boat without over crowding.
Incredible

The most incredible creature ever. Our guide knew exactly where to go and how to watch for them. This tour is a must do❤️
Highly recommend

Great trip. Not quite enough time at the glacier to walk the trail, we could have used another 30 minutes. But the whale-watching tour was fabulous! We did indeed see whales and they put on a wonderful show for us. The crew was upbeat, funny, safety-conscious.. All the things you could want from tour guides. Highly recommend this tour.

I give it a 1 only because we could not go due to weather. The reps were very kind in explaining everything and giving us options , I would definately try to book again if I am in Alaska.
Would recommend

This excursion was well worth it!! We saw several whales and some even jumped out of the water and flapped their fins while playing! The glacier was great! We walked to nugget falls while we were there.
How often do you get to see whales? Just book it!
Ashley_D, Sep 2023
We saw several whales breach during our excursion. Very knowledgeable staff. Boat has a heater on the interior so you can stay warm. Also, there’s a bathroom on the boat, which was a nice convenience.
Lots and Lots of Whale Sightings! A must do!!!
Linda_J, Sep 2023
Of all the excursions I went on this was the absolute best. The tour guides were informative, funny, but most importantly dedicated to ensuring you saw multiple whales and saw their tails go up! They were interactive with everyone on the tour working together to see whales! The time at MendenHall Glacier was perfect! We got enough time to hike to the falls, take pictures of the glaciers and other scenic shots and saw the salmon swimming upstream! Highly recommend, worth every penny!
Great experience from beginning to end!

The crew all worked wonderfully together and you could tell they truly Wanted this to be a great experience for everybody! We saw some whales and even some sea lions. There was a mistake in our booking and within less than two hours It was taken care of. I received a text and email letting me know my refund was being processed.

Seeing the whales. The staff took us to a spot where there were many congregating. I wish the staff would have given us more information on the whales as we headed out. Some enrichment The boat was loud so hearing was difficult
Great experience and crew!!
Vivian_W, Sep 2023
Our driver, Benjamin, was awesome!! Had a ton of facts to share (and a few corny but admittedly funny jokes) and even gave recommendations for local food/stops. Our whale watching crew on the Ramsey was incredibly helpful as well and we were able to glimpse 5-6 different whales during our time out on the water :)
